Yes I think I get what you are saying and that’s what upset me this expansion- I didn’t feel I was getting value for money.
I paid £90 plus a load of gold and I had 4 legendary cards. Ok that went up quickly but at the point of opening my packs I have 4 legendary cards and I’ve just spent £90. I felt so undervalued as a customer.
If you transfer that money to any other game I would pretty much have full access to all the game has to offer and in Hearthstone that’s not the case. I like to play lots of classes and lots of deck recipes which is why I am prepared to pay but I want my money to be worth me paying.
There was a huge amount of backlash from the community at the last expansion so hopefully Blizzard is going to make some changes.
They won’t lower the cost, mega bundle should be £60, normal bundle £30 in my opinion. This would impact their financial forecast even though I think more people would buy them as it’s value.
The solution then is to increase the packs. Keep the mega bundle at £75 but give us 120 packs so we get value for money and increase chance of getting more cards.
I don’t mind spending money but I don’t like feeling like a chump.
Of course they won’t. I mean, why have f2p players commit to buying packs? Just because they seem more affordable. And keep in mind that most of the f2p are children who don’t have a job, or people who can’t afford the cost, because they either have no job, or the cost of the bundles can be sometimes above their monthly earnings. And I mean literally.
Nobody said there aren’t more or less expensive games. I’m surprised you didn’t suggest Second Life. Perhaps you should check that out . There are tabletop games that are quite pricey too. There is gold flake coated ice cream that sells for 15.000 euro. But hey, that’s already a different thing, Entropia is an mmorpg I personally I wouldn’t be interested in anyway, since I dropped WoW years ago. And who cares what an (other) expensive game looks like? Or perhaps the player database in HS should consist of those players only, who are willing to waste a lot of money, along with their time spent, which is much more valuable if you ask me.
I’ve tried Second Life some 10 or so years ago and was not impressed.
I think that in the end, if somebody does not consider HS worth the money Blizzard asks for it, well, then do not spend the money. It is that simple. I’m lucky to have enough money so I do not have to think about that. Anyway, inflation will kill the value of my savings anyway, so why not to waste it on a virtual property, be it a card collection in HS or a gun in Entropia?
And that’s exactly my point! HS has gone down the ladder quality wise, and it’s not just me, or a few pointing this out. A game (any game) that does not deserve the attention and time of the user, is not worth the money. At this point in time for me it’s just like quitting smokes, I still glance at it but I moved on. I’ve tried LoR and I just feel bad for not giving it a try about 8 months ago when a friend invited me. It could’ve saved me half a grand
the rewards are fine, i am now battlepass lvl 61, i have bought many card packs from the gold earned, before i had to win 3 games for 10 gold or something, on paper it looks easy, but it is much work to win 15 games a day, even if it is in casual mode. with this battlepass i have to play only few days a week and finish all quests in those days. i do not only play hearthstone, but also gw2 and cod cold war where i have to reach lvl 200 and finish a battlepass there. today i had 3 weekly quests and 3 daily quests, that gave me 400 gold = 4 packs, 1 daily left to finish, if i complete 6 dailys thats 4 more packs, so 8 packs in a week from quests.
i think this is more then with the old system.
