Does anyone else wish there was some kind of way to play casual games specifically against casual decks?
My issue is there are a whole bunch of really cool and interesting cards that I’m sure the guys at Blizzard spent a whole bunch of time creating that never see play because they’re just not good enough for ranked play. I love making jank (intentionally lower powered) decks to try and see some of these less played but often very funny or interesting cards but like 9/10 casual games I play just seem to be against the same cookie cutter net decks you see in ranked play.
I’ll admit I don’t have an easy or obvious fix to suggest. I’m just interested to hear what other people think.

Yeah its a shame for a game to have thousands of cards but only 1/4 see play
To be honest, I only really care about my own deck, when it comes to fun and I consider myself a good enough deck builder/player to win enough with my jank in casual and at the rank 15 floor to keep myself happy.
Still would love a tournament mode, where you could completely customize the entrance. So for example you could ban all the top deck defining cards or maybe even force certain cards to be included.
i dont know about you. but i meet 95% of the time non meta decks in casual. maybe because i play decks with low win rate so i lose a lot
Oh, yes! This has been a recurring topic in the forums and usually those threads tend to become rather controversial. As someone that mostly builds and plays my own decks, I understand the pain. It’s not that much fun to go with some weird Timmy idea and be slaughtered by waves after wave of meta decks. However there are some lessons to be learned, in my opinion.
The first one is that if I’m building decks that are being destroyed, then I’m doing something wrong. Either my idea has no merit, or it doesn’t hold up in the current meta, or it’s not tech’ed for the current meta. My decks are not ladder material, but I do put up a fight, especially when I start looking at them thinking about who I’m supposed to be beating. My best creations are decks that, while not great overall, are able to put up a fight against the stuff that they should put up a fight.
The second is this:
Yep! This is absolutely true. Usually when I start building a deck I get so many straight losses that I start picking up other deck building weirdos like me, or, unfortunately, low budget F2P players.
I’ll be honest, mate, I’ve seen this discussion many, many times and the thing is, Ixnay is 100% right, if we’re building decks and not really trying hard on ladder or playing casual, then we should be looking, thinking and focusing on our own deck. Maybe there is a solution and if there is one I’ll be the first to support it, but until then, I really don’t see how to solve it.
