Since your talk resolves around comparing the rewards of the previous with the current map, sure, i’ll play your game.
Disclaimer : anything said applies from my perspective (0) (maybe others’ too, can’t tell)
Spoiler : your whole argument boils down to (3)
To clarify, my points were…
1.) There’s no current mechanism to keep active players occupied : It’s been times i played BGs (19-21) MUCH more, and i hadn’t completed my old map.
Thus, i had a ‘reason’ to play (apart from the fact i like the game). Now, that ‘reason’ is gone. Was the previous system incomplete? Sure. Someone who played 24/7 would finish
the map much earlier and find themselves in a similar situation. Then again, check (0). For MY routine, old map was ok. I play (relatively) casually and there’s nothing to ‘chase’
anymore. This isn’t related to (3) that much. It’s about ‘having something to do’. Having a goal. Chasing that dopamine of a new reward popping on your screen, and that alone.
2.) Sense of progression : Well… again, there’s none. At least, before, each level meant something. Did you grind a level? Here’s your 75 gold (similar to (1), but not quite,
and not strictly related to (3) ). Now it’s ‘grind and gain nothing’. How is this NOT a bad desing? Again, i need something to ‘chase’. How is this a GOOD game design? Please convince me, im all ears.
3.) ‘CuRrEnT rEwArdS > PaSt rEwArdS’ : Comparing apples with oranges. How lovely. You forget back then gold actually meant something, but now doesn’t. Giving me 3 trashy emojis and a a ‘rare’ strike is 4 gifts that 2 extra heroes would beat any day of the week. 2>4. Yes, indeed. It’s about QUALITY (the way I measure it at least - check (0) ).
Anyway. I won’t be replying to you anymore. You 're clearly a Blizzard fanboy. I made 3 valid points and you missed all. What’s that? 1 out of 8? Don’t visit a casino, please.
