The only basic deck guides I’ve found are from 2018 and cointain cards that are no longer available I think.
Well as a new player I think you get given a lot of the demon hunter cards so that’s probably the best place to start (here’s a dirt cheap version https://hsreplay.net/decks/y8Y94ZZhRYOv2RFjQfIwbg/
)
Then just go to youtube and type “hearthstone how to play X”. Here’s a DH example vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Oz03kVgfdU
It’s a little out of date but only because several cards have been made a little weaker in the last few months, but the basics are still sound.
There are many top quality players who put videos on youtube or stream on twitch so watching them play for a bit, once you find a deck you feel you’ll like is a solid place to start.
feel free to add me for support. I’ll be able to help you with the basics. khisana#2351
I only started playing in April, it took about 2 weeks to get out of the apprentice league, I didn’t even think about looking at different decks and guides, it was all alien to me; I just used the deck it gave me with the Hero I liked, and did all 40 levels. When I got to the proper game and quickly realised I and Shaman sucked, a guy I know who was at legend put together a Hunter deck for me, which won me a few games more. This got me thinking about how the wider game works, synergies etc. and I started to look at different decks I could use. I then purchased the Welcome pack and started to get a basic grasp of the game.
It doesnt seem to be widely recommended by people, but everytime I made 100 gold, and after researching which packs were considered most relevant for Hunter, I spent it on a pack, rotating between Saviors of Uldum, Descent of Dragons & occasionally Ashes of Outland. 100 gold at least every 2-3 days is easily achievable with doing the daily quests. Also you get a free classic pack every week by winning a game in tavern brawl.
I started watching youtube videos from Old Guardian (highly recommended for new players), he puts together a lot of budget decks and have gone from there. Ecore 100 is another youtuber I would recommend. Because I only like playing Hunter I dusted a few cards during my first month, from other classes I don’t like to make the odd card I didn’t have. Not something I would recommend and the one thing I slightly regret doing.
Sign up to hsreplay and download their deck tracker, you will also find decks there you can build, and it will show you which cards you are missing as it syncs your collection. In May, what I consider my first season, I made gold 5, which I was pretty happy with.
Icy Veins also have a few good decks and informative guides.
Get comfortable with losing, it will happen, a lot. If you get angry at losing this probably isn’t the game for you. See it as a learning experience. The current Resurrect Priest for example, is practically unbeatable for new players, or it is at least for me
Like others have pointed out, hsreplay is a pretty good resource.
I also use hearthstonetopdecks
Be sure to do your daily quests and reroll them if you dont have the cards to complete.
Winning 1 game of weekly tavern brawls will get you a classic card pack.
Dont think too much about top meta cards, pick one class and play it a lot.
I started this game about two years ago and picked hunter, because at the time hunter had a really cool card (deathstalker rexxar) which I played a lot.
Now I barely play Hunter, I switched to mage and shaman because those classes, for me at least, are the most fun right now.
Don’t be afraid to play ranked, at the end of the season (every month) you get rewards based on your highest achieved rank.
You cant drop ranks below either the 10th or 5th rank of your tier(bronze, silver, gold etc…)
Just play and slowely fill your collection. I would personally recomend to always invest in the newest set of cards since every year around february I believe, standard cards get rotated.
Next year these card packs will leave standard format and will move exclusively to wild: Decent of Dragons, Saviors of Uldum and Rise of E.V.I.L
Play the ashes of outland adventure for free Demon Hunter cards and the Decent of Dragons adventure to get cool card rewards.
You can also use your gold to enter the Arena. In arena you will craft a deck by random choices and the more games you win the better rewards you will get. Especially for new players it’s a pretty good way to get lots of gold and packs.
I hope this info helps you a bit, if you need any help or someone to complete your quests with, feel free to add me: ShadowSnipe#2518
