I can’t speak for standard because I refuse to play it. But in wild, I have to admit for the first time that control is dead. The cerebral aspect of the ladder is dead. Brief summary:
Top tier decks consist only of aggro and evens warlock (by aggro I mean some kind of minion swarm or direct face damage. Whatever. Victory within 6 turns is the plan)
As I have always refused to play aggro, I’ve gone with evenslock. But its pathetic how easy games are. I made my own deck and I just draw to make my hand as big possible and then throw out twice as many big minions as a regular handlock.
In fact, I have to concede that a modern handlock is just another aggro deck with big cards. Its brainless.
Im not bothering with tech cards. Im not even bothering with board control. Just draw>ramp>smash face>win.
Control cant beat me. Its just a race vs quest decks. And I’ll reach Legend doing this as I have before.
So the only accepted control decks are around tier 3. Probably only 1% of the players that hit legend bother using them to get there because they’re not time efficient or very effective anyway.
And of course pirate warrior is the ultimate abomination. An aggro deck that doesn’t lose tempo because of bonuses applied to every turn.
I’m sure the idea was to experiment with targeting different revenue streams. So they made the game accessible to young children and the elderly, but why wasn’t there not a hotfix when a real dev discovered the error?
Instead a legendary was released that gives all pirates the ‘charge’ ability. Excuse me, but, WHAT!!??
So my all important question is simple but has several layers……
- How many devs lost their job over this?
- Were they paid a severance fee, or were they on a contractual basis and they have instead since been released.
- How much severance was paid out in total?
- Was blizzard looking for a quick buck to boost sales before selling up to a new buyer?
- Can I ask when this buyout is likely to take place, and who the new buyer is likely to be?
Would like to have an idea when the game might actually require an element of strategy and concentration to succeed again.
At the moment I can rank up from bronze to diamond in barely a couple hours while watching tv on day 1 of the month. This cant be what the hs shotcallers have in mind for the future of the game.
Thanks for your time
