I dont play battlegrounds much, but it is quite annoying due to RNG. I ask myself, why does battlegrounds exist? It feels idea of this battlegrounds is just waste time. if you dont get cards you need for more damage or hp, you are done. It doesnt work like this, unfortunately.
I do play it myself, even if not as much recently.
But i do enjoy it, cause i know what i’m expected: RNG. You don’t play a shooter game expecting to not have shooting elements, so simply put if you don’t like RNG sadly Battlegrounds is not the gamemode for you.
I still think it’s fun thou, cause there is still much strategy involved in it. Knowing how to use at best potential each card, being able to switch comp entirely when things don’t come your way, deciding the order of attack and buying minions knowing what your enemies are playing. Yeah, there is RNG, is the core of the game, but it’s with that randomness that you can apply a strategy to have the best outcome.
Do you always win even if you have the best outcome? Of course not, you can easily lose a game in your favor for just a wrong hit, and sure it does feel bad. It’s how the game is, nothing wrong about it since it’s clear. The only sad thing is that there is so much more to the mode that the game doesn’t explain and you need to learn reading stuff online or streamers play.
Hearthstone, never mind Battlegrounds, it is in a state of abandon by many of its past users and that is noticeable from many details, including the traffic and content of these forums.
The reason? RNG rules above everything not just in Battlegrounds, where perhaps is supposed to by design, but mostly (AND MORE) in every other option available.
Take the current Brawl, for example, based on a repeated choice among three cards of your opponent class.
You have a choice! But all you can choose is what is being shown to you.
The ratio between what I player can choose or decide in Hearthstone and what is determined by RNG is so unbalanced that I throw up every time I focus on it.
And, BTW, your question is designed to hide that - as if admitting the dominating presence of RNG in a feature could hide what rules in the rest of the game options. It is all a bit pathetic.
I left the game for more than two weeks of holiday and I switched playing something else, much more satisfactory, in my free time.
I came back to check what’s up, perhaps even hoping that things might have changed for the better. And what I get? A free epic card of the next set that can have a random effect chosen among 20+ available…
Ah ah ah ah ah ah… how ironic.
Of course I am not enjoying any of this. Of course, I will leave again and the best part is that I will not miss it.
As I said I dont play battlegrounds much and I give it a try to play more a bit. It is just wow how broken battlegrounds is. It is simple ONE THING!
- If you dont get any cards you need for dmg/hp/triple while other players get right cards. You are done, you cant continue, no chance to win due to RNG. I dont think how it works should be. It is BIG disaster. No matter what you are doing, just play and pray for cards. If I had to decided, I would remove battlegrounds immediately. It is waste time to continue, you already knew you are going to lose. Still beta so you have to solve this problem. It is just my words!
Thanks!
I did until my last game. The RNG factor has never really been an issue, some games goes in my favour, others it doesn’t. But this game, never seen anything like it. Last 2, I had higher stat cards, opponent had one out to win, if they attacked first giving them full divine shield for the board. Now I’m not sure if macaw is always supposed to go first, but 5 games in a row it did. Uninstalled after that.
Battlegrounds exist, because people like them. Just look at the viewership on Twitch. A great example is Kripp - streaming at odd hours, yet getting thousands of views playing BGs.
I am glad BGs were introduced. They have drawn some players, who would otherwise not play Hearthstone at all. They have also retained some of the big streamer names like Kripp, who would probably not be playing the game anymore. BGs are good for publicity and they are good for Hearthstone.
I, on the other hand, cannot stand them under normal circumstances. The RNG factor is so outrageously high, that there is absolutely no fun in them. Just look at what RNG has done to Standard and think about how it’s 10 times more in BGs. The only time i find them appealing is when I am very tired right before bed, but don’t want to sleep yet, so I hop in for a game to turn off my brain and watch colorful things flying around.
Not all people like the same things and that’s OK. Some people want to play and win without too much effort after a long day at work. Others enjoy games of luck more than they enjoy games of skill, which is also fine.
So yeah, glad BGs exist, but I hate them.
loved battle ground but sadly murlocs are killing it for me if i lose to anyone its always bubbled/murloc/poison
