Druid in Dalaran Heist - Wing 5

Ok, I managed to clear wing 5 with all classes except Mage and Druid. Regarding mage, it seems to me that I’m not getting good treasures, so RNG will help eventually.

Druid is a different problem though. I can’t seem to build a deck with enough control for the “Clock is ticking” Secret Mage that I often find in challenge 9. There’s almost no board clears, my minions are way too small for her minions. Even if I ever manage to pass her, I doubt I can put up a fight with the Archmages. The best I got so far in late game was 1 Y’sera, 1 Kel’Thusad and 1 Lucent Bark.

I’ve done so many runs that I’m starting to have a feeling that I’m playing this wrong, assuming the cards quality is what it is.

Any thoughts regarding Druid are appreciated.

I didn’t start yet so this I hope will help:

I haven’t tried druid yet either, but from the classes I’ve had success with and knowing the tools druid has available…surely a ramp style big minion druid is the way to go? If you can get the treasure that reduces big minions to 5 cost…even better? I’m just speculating though as, as I mentioned, I haven’t tried druid yet but my easiest successes were with big minion variants

Just finished it with Druid and this was EXACTLY what I did. Big minions cost 5 and then a lot of Malornes and that big 12/12 and KT and Aviana and 2x Kun and Rag and 5/7 rush taunt thing… just a feast of huge minions and some removal spells. Oh and the Warrior quest reward, the hammer with the Rag hero power.

Time to push with Mage. I’m trying to find the treasure to play cards at half the cost.

Maybe try to get a good random effect, I had today “both players start with 2 extra mana crystals and 2 extra cards” then you can exploit those things, I’ll try to beat ti with druid now, I had to try the paladin as I am a big fan of the two lost in the jungle dudes, I’ll tell you how I won or lost my sanity

edit: with paladin I was going for the 0 mana ring the bells and I accidentally played prismatic lens, I got a 25 mana ring the bells…

That’s a good idea! I’ve been trying to play it without random effects but truth is that those may give me an edge.

In the meantime I had a great deck, great treasures, a full board and lethal in 2 turns against the boss that plays Yogg. He played Yogg. I lost the game… I’m in a pretty bad mood right now.

I’m just gonna go ahead and say what you’re all thinking…yeah, I really am THAT good

WHAT? where…? ohhhh
how did I even miss that? lol

Finished with Mage too. All normal wings completed.

Thanks, Sheercold, for the idea of using the anomalies. It was actually a tad too easy when compared to the many failures before. I wasn’t considering Heroic, now I am, with anomalies.

Oh, I thought you were doing heroic. You can’t use anomalies until you’ve completed the mode you’re on iirc. So you won’t be able to use anomalies on heroic until you’ve completed it at least once…at least that’s how I THINK it works…I could be wrong

Indeed you are, Rayven. Anomaly mode only requires you to own the entire adventure, nothing more.

Rayven, I thank you for thinking so highly of me. However I would advise you to always add “tha n00b lol” when you think of me, e.g. instead of thinking “Vlad is playing the adventure”, think “Vlad tha n00b lol is playing the adventure”. You will never go wrong.

Thanks for correcting me. I don’t know where I got it into my head that you had to complete a difficulty first to unlock its anomaly mode but, at least by my logic, it would make sense for that to be the case.

Well, to be fair, I assumed someone who speaks so well and so knowledgably about the game to be playing to a good standard…I guess you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s contents :stuck_out_tongue:
