So with the new quest system, am I right in thinking that when a player reaches the max xp level of 150, the only way of earning gold will be the 10g you get for each 3 wins?
Here is a full explanation, level 150 is not or almost not possible to reach unless you spend grinding all the achievements and play a lot.
You really need to farm a lot to even maintain the previous possible amount of gold you could obtain.

When blizzard got asked to a specific question the community had if the rewards would be the same, they answered it kind of shady to avoid a simple answer.
Most people probably get less gold now to spend.

If you maintain doing all the daily and weekly quests you will reach level 50 at the end of 3 months, which would translate to around 4500 gold

My bad, so 4500 expierence per level needed after 50
one daily is 1000 and a weekly is max 2500, though i dont know how many weekly quests you get but i guess it is 4 since i have two more pending weekly quest that i receive in 3 days.
so 100 levels x 4500 = 450.000 expierence needed to max out
daily quest 1000 x 30 = 30.000
Weekly quest 2500 x 16 ? = 40.000 ( if it is a higroll )
70.000 / 4500 = 15~ x 150 = 2250 gold extra.
So they still have room to tweak so i can get more gold !
Have you noticed the other sections with objectives that give XP for doing things? It’s all the ones that have a treasure chest next to them
I think it’s gona turn out at about a gold wash but the caveat is you need to put in a little more effort but you get way more random free packs.
I was concerned that this change was gona kill f2p as it’d make it impossible to save up enough gold before each expansion but at least at first glance it easily fills my own prerequisite of giving out at least an easy 6000 gold (I.e. all the commons/rares), with lots of bonus random stuff added in along the way.
I am prepared to be wrong and start complaining thusly if not
P.s. 4 months is at least 17 weeks I.e. the year will be split 17/17/18=52
Yeah , but i counted the extra gold as the 4th month, that you could obtain with just leveling after the completion of your 3 month leveling to 50.
Ofcourse there is some extra value added with packs and a free arena ticket for me with some random legendary’s , but maybe i am just a little mad that a shatload of my achievements dont count.
I had like 5000 arena wins but now they are gone.
You can get some expierence points for achievements i think and by playing the game in any mode but that is minimun.
Well I just did 1 duel to clear the pack quests going 9-3 and got about 6000 XP as there are quest for wins 3-12.
I don’t really care about the totals going, but the one that does actually **** me off is that I had 12 wins in the original 9 classes but that hasn’t back dated at all . Would have also been interesting to see how many of them I’d gone 12-0 with as I don’t actually know that.
All the other ones I’m missing that I have done I’m not that fussed about as I run the legend card back to show I’ve done that and there’s no real way to quantify “reached rank 5 the first 10 months of rewards with my own decks including 2 80%+ wr climbs”
But the 12 wins with every class, genuinely felt like an achievement at the time and even though it’s been years since I’ve took arena seriously, it’s still sad that they haven’t counted. Actually hurts more than the arena wins not getting added to the class win total when they added those, even if that probably would have got me my final golden hero

It is not possible to earn the same gold ladies and gentlemen, it’s obvious. We don’t need to make high-level math calculations. They have decreased the gold we can earn but most important that was not they are promised Hearthside Chat - Progression & Rewards Revamp
I’m not sure it is obvious. The one brief thing I skimmed made it look easy to reach rank 50, so without doing the math myself I’ll hold judgment.
The one thing that does seem a bit shady is some of the XP giving class quests are specific legendary locked. Seems like a cheap way to try and force people to craft cards they might otherwise not necessarily want.
Ok I found someone else who did the math:
A hardcore casual player (i.e. completes every quest but doesn’t grind out side that) is gona end up somewhere between level 65 and 75. This will equate too between 6450 gold and 7950 gold.
Additionally you’ll get:
- 16x Card Pack
- 2x Tavern Ticket
- 2x Random Legendary Card
- 1x Random Epic Card
- Cosmetics (Card Back, Hero Skin Choice)
So my initial assumption of same gold for a bit more effort (i.e. doing the weeklies that you wouldn’t have natural got) seems about right.
If you’re a hardcore grinder there’s actually potential to earn slightly more gold but in reality you’re likely to earn marginally less.
Another problem in this new system is, I played two days completed 2 daily quest (800 + 1000 ) and at the end of i get a tavern Ticket Level 15. With the same effort i was able to get 2 New expansion pack before the expansion release.
I played 3 days (Thurs, Fri, Sat) and earned:
1 Legendary
1 tavern ticket (value 150g)
3 new expansion packs
1 Pack of each of the last 3 expansions
1 Epic card
700 gold
Under the old system I would have earned 250 gold with the same effort.
It’s very easy to make the system look good or bad if you’re gona cherry pick situations. Simple thing is that we won’t really know the impact on f2p until we get close to the expansion after this one.
