I’m not going to do a theory crafting video, so here are my first thoughts about ideas I had while looking at the cards.
I want to play Zephyrs the Great as much as I can so I’ll probably build a bunch of Reno decks in Wild. I also want to try to build more aggressive decks. You heard it here first: I want to build aggressive decks, but there’s a catch, I want to build them around Mortuary Machine and Generous Mummy because I like to live dangerously.
For meme sake I want to try to make King Phaoris, Mogu Cultist and Desert Odelisk work.
Decks I want to give a shot at:
Token Tearful Druid. I love Token Druid, never built one! So I’ll try to build one with the new quest. Will be slower than the usual Token Druids though.
Kathrena Decks I’ve tried many things with Kathrena and Scarlet Webweaver (discount 5 mana of a beast in hand) is a blessing. Also want to try eggs either with Kathrena or just Deathrattle Hunter.
Double Reno Mage which basically means a full review of my Reno Mage. Want to try more secrets with Arcane Flakmage, Cloud Prince and Flameward.
Reno Priest will have a full review too. Either to change quest for the new one or include Psychopomp in the old quest.
Healing Quest Priest. A board centric Priest. Some spells synergize nicely with Shadowboxer and Mana Geode, will try that.
Anka, the Buried I have no idea what I’ll do with her, but I will do something. Jades, Eggs, Necrium stuff come to mind.
Jade Shaman. To start with change Devolve for Plague of Murlocs. Then try to go for a more board centric approach with Sandstorm Elemental or a Totem based approach since I play a lot of totems. Finally I want to try the quest with Jade Shaman. Should be pretty brutal.
Lackey Warlock Zoo/Tempo Warlock kind of thing.
Fatigue/Mill Warlock to try to fit Conjured Mirage. I think this card will be an issue in tournaments by the way.
Hacker Warrior with Mechs or Rush minions but it’s the one I doubt the most to be honest.
Shielded Mini Rag. My Quest Warrior will return with a handbuff version. Way too many cards supporting the archetype to ignore this: Into the Fray, Armagedillo, Phalanx Commander, Bone Wraith and Khartut Defender.
And this is it for initial thoughts. Opinions are welcomed.
This will hinge ENTIRELY on whether the copied Undatakah’s will carry over their deathrattles. Do we know if they will? I remember Blizzard was keeping an eye on this back when Cubelock was popular, can’t remember if there were ever changes made though
Copies Magnetized Mechs like a goblin bomb with replicating menace, doesn’t it? You can make a 2/2 copy of a galvanizer with divine shield, taunt, lifesteal and rush because the original just so happened to have a zilliax glued onto it. Yes, I think the deathrattles will stick.
Yeah it wouldn’t surprise me to be honest, I just remember reading something not long ago about blizzard considering changes to copying deathrattle minion because of concerns about carnivorous cube being abused and just wasn’t sure if they’d actually done anything
They shouldn’t do that. Rather, they should print more cards to counter the Cube. Silence cards for priest and more devolve-themed stuff for shaman. I even came up with a Warlock Card called “Hostile Takeover”, which they take control of an enemy minion, but corrupt it as well. And another which is a mind control, but it gives the target minion deathrattle: summon a 1/1 shadow-beast.
That’s one owl and what I have is 2 8 mana combos that remain and can be buffed further, and maybe some other silence worthy cards like eggs on 5, whelps on 6 the undertaker, the 7 mana 1/1 The Kangor summons and maybe even more once we get there
Right now I have a fully crafted deck that is only missing Mogu Cultists (it’s basically Mill Rogue), and I’m probably making a Tempo Thief Rogue with like the quest + good cards - Swashburgerglar for instance.
Personally I’m thinking of a Reno Deck with a bunch of Secrets, the new Finly, Tekal & Reno, and that dude from Witchwood that turns all those superfluous Secrets into extra Legends. Complete meme deck, of course, but should be fun to try out.
