May someone explain how exactly the card works, is it 50/50?
I’ve had occasions when both parts are killed at the same time and minions are recovered to the board and other occasions when both are killed at the same time minions do not recover, is this a bug or there is an explanation?
I’d need to see the exact examples but in general if they die at the same time the minions will be returned to the board.

Technically the other part of Gigafin spawns after the card itself is played/summoned, but before any other effects occur. So the main body of the card is “older” than the other part it summons. And as we know, seniority in the order of the cards affects things like in what order Deathrattles go through.
I reduced the 4/7 to 4/4, and the other part was a 7/4, so both at 4 hp. When I used a aoe 4 damage spell it killed them both at the same time and returned my minions to my board.
Yes, because like I said, the 7/4 was technically “summoned” first. Thus it died before the 4/7 did, meaning the minions that got eaten got resummoned while the “swallow” effect happened afterwards, by which point there was no 7/4 around to swallow anything.
The only way to get the 4/7 to trigger first when both die at the same time would be to bounce them both back to your hand, play the 4/7 first and then the Gigafin itself (Which would summon another 4/7). That way if they both die, the separately played 4/7 would trigger first and the Gigafin would swallow the minions.
