You know, i really tried to understand. Maybe someone will say it’s just me being toxic, but I believe not and want to share my experience.
- Particularly, Yogg-Saron wheel anomaly. Hate to break it down for you, but have you realised that Hearthstone Battlegrounds is a game mode with rating system implemented? Otherwise, it is really hard to understand why do you release such an insane in the brain feature. It is not competitive since it is 0% skill and 100% RNG feature. Tell me, why do I have to pray that my Baron Rivender is not getting taunted and then spend entire turns praying that I find a one-and-only untaunt card instead of improving my board and getting stronger? Why do I have to pray that the triplet that I found in the Tavern and the minion that got golden due to the wheel of Yogg-Saron won’t get eaten next turn by the same wheel, simply bcz I can’t afford to buy those on a turn you have to level up the Tavern? Obviously I don’t want to use two potential triplets while I’m in Tavern 1, that’s a decision that makes no sence and none of top tier players would do so. What does all this have to do with the rating system? Or is it “for fun” option? If so, go for rating and non rating battlegrounds modes, as you’ve already done it with the main game.
- Buddies system. At this point, you have released buddies multiple times throughout the last years. I hardly remember even 1 time when you managed to balance them properly and didn’t have to think of fixes almost as soon as you’ve released them. Maybe it’s time to give up? Guys, as a niche development company you can’t seem to afford a proper balance department. So, maybe just give up on this feature? Personally I would be thankful
P.S. the whole anomaly thing as an idea is fine i guess. It helps to spice things up and adds new experience to the game. It’s just that some anomalies are developed by those who know the game and others not.
P.P.S. The anomalies part that is developed by a braindead: Yogg-Saron wheel; on turn X discover a tier X golden card; everyone start the game with golden tier 2 that discovers 2 cards of tier X upon selling (depending on how many turns it remains on the board). Maybe those of you who read to this part will remember more.
