A lot of players do have moved to LOR, why? the answer is simple, the game is free to play. So, how can an online game earn money if the game is free to play? Cosmetics, the only few ways to keep improving this game are those:
- change in game mechanics add something new on the board that will be able to introduce also new card sets, like 6 cristals 3 for each player and cards that are normal cards with a common effect that can use a very powerful one with one cristal, so you will be able to activate that effect only 3 times in a match. also you can add card that deals true damage(cards that ignores armor and divine shield). add e second mini board with 3 spaces and create cards that impact the game with those spaces, add 10 slots to the deck and add brand new cards. at the end of the day, every new concept will give to the game popularity.
- the last but not the least
F2P. the game needs to improve. add more chosmetics that you can buy, implement new purchasable cosmetics like mascots boards in game, the fact that you can chose what field of what expancion you want to see while in game, and sett those elements to prices like: 5 euros for a card back, 10 for heros (like right now) 10 for the option to chose the field and 10/15 the board background. then give a lot of free items to players and create more purchasable bundles with packs, i understand that you can’t lower prices because everyone has spent something, so the fact that you half the price will mean that you half the money everyone has spent on the game. Also you can create Deck bundles, imho if you create decks and sell them for 10(max15) bucks you will get a lot of money, because players will buy all the top tier decks.
So by the end of the day if the game becomes very cheap and with a lot of in game prizes with new mechanics and a lot of cosmetics(old or new ones). you will rise hearthstone as a game and will also be able to earn money.
They tried adding new heroes for money and so few people bought them that they decided it wasn’t worth there time, so I can’t imagine any cosmetic would be.
that’s because people still think it’s more worth to spend money on cards instead of chosmetics
Well you can play hs f2p as well
I mean i play both and yes lor is much easier f2p but its doable in hs as well.
You just have to be better with resources in hs than in lor.
In hs its even easier than in mtg arena for example. Much easier
For you first point i think your ideas are good but im not competent enough in game development before or after a release to have a opinion if it would fit in hs to begin with.
Id rather have a different game with those mechianics tbh
So we both agree that your suggestion makes no sense?
As for your first suggestion, Hearthstones simplicity is what keeps it so popular.

i mean, games like league of legends adds something new in the game every year, also yugioh(every bunch of years). so why hs sould not do that? also, i know you can play free on hs, but if you make it much more easyer the casual players will come back again
Yeah probably people would come back
Btw. Do you gave a source on h Po w much the player base dropped?
Id love to see those numbers
and you start attacking both. i also came back, but because i have 2 vacation weeks and League started to annoy me, and yes i’ve seen improvements and i’m having fun. but man, i left the game for about 1 year and a half. Because of no fun, this is my first post here in the eng forum, but i’m actually italian, i had a lot of fun and i played the game for a entire year before dropping it. I mean, it’s still funny it’s still good, i’ve seen improvement. but time passes, and the CGO situation changes every year, fortunately HS started changing too, but for now it’s a bit too slow. I suggested just to fast a bit the f2p of the game( with bundles and small week/daily rewards over the brawl or the quests), to create beautiful chosmetics place them at an affordable price and then last but not least some new small rules, just to have something more in the game(but still keeping it simple) that would be the top of the top and hearthstone will see a big rise after that
I attacked what exactly?
I mean im agreeing with more f2p is good.
I merly stated my opinion.
Im no game develepor and no evonomist.
I cant tell if it fits the business model of a huge companie.
I cant tell if the changes are healthy for the game or if the people who actually loved the game for what it is, actually will come back if you change it that drasticly.
Btw. You did the right thing when you left the game after it stopped beeing fun.
You probably could teach a few people one or two lessons here.
So pls let us just discuss your ideas instead on raising the “i got attacked” forks. Whuch i didnt even do
“i got attacked” were drasrical, but not by you, by ixnay, he said "So we both agree that your suggestion makes no sense?
As for your first suggestion, Hearthstones simplicity is what keeps it so popular." i mean, it makes no sense that him said to my suggestion that it makes no sense. no people will refuse a lil bit more f2p or some good and fun changes
Ok because i got a notification that you respobded to my post. Thats why the assumption.
What i dont agree completly tough is your point with everything new will raise the player base because i think this might not necessary be true.
If you add too much new to the core game (new modes like Bg, sure keep em coming) could just change the way you have to play it. And there would surely be a number of players wich either dont like the changes in particular Po r dont lije changes to beginn with, so those people will probably leave
that’s true, but if you don’t add all the changes in 1 year, but you do something every year, poeple will adapt
I really dislike the complexity of your suggestions. HS is fun and easy to play. By adding crystals and whatever mechanics you mentioned you are only adding complexity to the game that will probably create great imbalance to the power level of certain classes.
As for the F2P aspect, they dont charge you for playing the game. The game is absolutely free. They charge you for your impatience.
In order to reach rank 1 and Legendary in standard mode you dont need to buy cards. You just need to play the game and you will eventually get all the cards you need.
Here is an example. Imagine if WoW was free to play. You could have access to all game servers without subscription. So you could level your characters, reach end lvl, play PvP Raids etc all for free. Now if Blizzard charged you for a character boost would you say that the game sucks because they charge you money for character boost?
Its simple. You can go from A to Z free of charge in 1 year and you can go from A to Z for a certain amount of money immediately. The choice is yours.
I think youre right in generell.
Thats why i wrote id rather see that in a new game.
Anyway he just want it easier for f2p which is always possible ofc.
And tbh. Just keep playing until rank 1 legend is a hatd call. It sure may be possible but even in standard its pretty tough to get everything xou need.
You need a more then usual resource management and a more then average detication to do so
,
Your suggestion:
Add more cosmetics so cards can be cheaper.
Your very next response:
People would rather buy cards than cosmetics.
So you yourself stated that your suggestion to improve the game doesn’t work.
no, if you have still both of your eyes and you can still read, i said create ore bundles, and put new cool cosmetics at an affordable price so peoples will start thinking to buy chosmetics. Also, if everyone has every deck he wants the only thing left to buy is personalization
players leabing hs because Standard meta is so boring… wild is good and new player dont play wild becasue they dont know about it… it’s time to mix std and wild
Or nothing, they could and would chose to buy nothing.
