HOF before rotation?

Hi guys

Who also did not manage to disenchant rotating cards and craft the HoF ones before they hofed them?

Why did the HoFing of cards took place before the rotation this time? Was it mentioned somewhere? I am calling this a d*ck move from blizzard cuz they know people are going to make dust

Nice move blizz

I have even been saving my dust for a long time to be able to craft the ones going to HoF, but i didn’t notice it in the news.

I never understood why they do it this way anyway. It’s fine that they give dust to the people that already have the card, but why not give the cards for free to everyone that doesn’t have them. That way everyone kinda gets the same, not just the ones that saved up a lot of dust for this “event”.

I would have loved to have a free Leeroy, but now it’s too late :frowning:

yes, in the year of the phoenix announcement on march 17

they want you to keep logging into the game.

if heroes are given out (like tyrande back in the day), it’s for a limited amount of time. the free legendary upon expansion release is a limited time offer. daily quests don’t stack. nerfed cards give full refund for 2 weeks and so on.

they wanna keep you engaged in the game and this is part of it.

Sure i understand that they want you to keep logging in, which sadly i still do for that very same reason (daily quests). But since i mostly play it on mobile, i don’t see the news that often and sadly missed the announcement for the HoF, which basically means i missed out on a lot of free cards/dust.

I still think it would make perfect sence to either give the dust to everyone, or to give the cards to everyone or a combination (not forever, but for everyone that logs in within the 1-2 weeks). It’s obviously fair that if you don’t play for a period you will miss some stuff, that’s part of the game as you said.

For instance you could have seen the news, but not have any dust, so you get nothing, while someone else who saved a lot of dust can craft all the cards in golden and get a very big amount of dust (I think i saw a calculation of it being 6k dust or something like that you could gain from this)

the dust is a compensation for those players, who have the cards and can’t use them in standard anymore.

I’m not oblivious to the fact that the playerbase treats the hall of fame like a christmas bonus, but that doesn’t change the intent of it.

and if you keep that intent in mind, giving out dust/cards to everyone doesn’t make much sense because it’s not meant for everyone to craft HOF cards and then get a dust shower.

it’s nice that it works that way, but in a way it’s somewhat abusing the system.

If it is an “abuse”, then it’s certainly not a very difficult one to prevent. Like, don’t announce HoF in advance, or don’t give dust for cards crafted after the reveal.

I just think it gives a very uneven christmas bonus as you call it, but i guess that has always been kind of the point in HearthStone. Make it uneven, so more people will pay insane amounts of money for a digital card collection

Christmas bonus is only gir the people who earned it.

Ergo the people who had the cards.

The real proplem us that some people didnt get the news.if you want to blame blitz then blame them for not spreading the info.

They could anounce it in the client in a way everyone sees it

I agree. but it’s not blizzard who treats it like a bonus, but the playerbase. blizzard gives out the dust as compensation, but everyone tries to maximise their “compensation”, no matter if they have something to be compensated for.

now don’t get me wrong, I do it too and I don’t see anything wrong with it.

my point is that in a system that is designed to compensate for “damages”, those compensations are automatically distributed unevenly because so are the damages.

and if such a system allows people, who weren’t damaged at all, to get compensation as well, then it just adds to the unevenness.

but in this case I just think the only two options to make it perfectly fair would be to give out dust to less players (by for example making HOF cards uncraftable between announcement and rotation), which would suck for the players or give out free dust/cards (like you suggested), which would completely change the meaning of the “hall of fame dust”.

so if they want to compensate players for consequences of their actual changes, they gotta do it like they do it. and I don’t see anything wrong with that either.

I do have 1 question. Wouldn’t rotation have hit without you realising anyway? If you hadn’t looked at the news in the last 10 days that had all the announcements in it, why would you have looked at in the next 10 days?
