How is it that Paladins are still being left as they are?

I just don’t see how this class is seen as being ok in the current meta of standard and blizz are just happy to leave them untouched.

The nerf to sword of the fallen has had basically no change to their win rate, with some secret paladin decks averaging a staggering 75% win rate!

This class has everything from good draw, board flood, heals, overpowered secrets, and taunts.
They just seem to have an answer to everything, and I can’t see how blizzard are just happy to leave them dominating the meta in their current state, it’s just boring and discouraging for people trying to be creative and do something different!

Do we thing there will be an impending nerf to Paladins? Unless there are some planned buffs coming to other cards I can’t see how this can continue.

After the last nerf, Dean Ayala said that they would run it for a month and if Paladin would still be above a certain threshold (55% he said), they would act on it.

To be fair to the developers, the nerfs of Sword of the Fallen and Pen Flinger did produce some effect. The oppressive deck is gone. Two problems followed though: Aggro Paladin became stronger and Secret Paladin adapted quickly and easily by removing one secret.

I think the meta is playable but far from healthy. I also think that there are more problems than Paladin. If Paladin is brought down (and it should) then Hunter and Warrior are likely to be too strong. This is going to be a tough meta to balance, I think.

I get a lot of my wins from secret paladins as a control hunter, easy to play around their secrets. Only thing that can beat me is if they get an early double conviction at 3/4 mana. I think it’s fine.

Paladin will get hit again for sure.

Having a look at all the top decks statistics, the only clearly busted card is Sword of the fallen (still), so I expect that to go to 3 mana.

I expect all the paladins, face hunter, rush warrior and token druid to get nerfs but outside that one card it’s hard to say exactly what should get changed as all the other decks are just well rounded.

Paladin is op trash and the worst card is stupid windfury murloc and counter spell

This thread should be renamed 'How is it that Warlocks are still being left as they are? As a Paladin player lock is currently OP and as of yet has not been nerfed. They are the problem currently not Pala.

HSReplay disagrees with you.
https://hsreplay.net/meta/

At the time I write this, the highest win rate archetype is Secret Paladin (62.74%)
The second highest is Secret Libram Paladin (57.43%).
Warlock’s first appearance is at 10th spot: Control Warlock (50.63%).

I don’t have premium on HSReplay so I cannot check which archetype is strong against which other. But based on your posts I’ll go out on a limb and claim that Control Warlock is probably the only deck that really counters Paladin, and hence the only deck that keeps you from going up to a 75% win rate.

Sorry, mate. But if a deck is popular, people will start queueing hard counters. And if there are no hard counters, Blizzard will start considering nerfs.

You don’t need premium to check that, click the archetype then the matchups tab.

Secret Paladin dunks on all warlocks overall in general.

You mean this? https://hsreplay.net/archetypes/15/secret-paladin#tab=matchups

True that Hunter and Warrior will be strong after a Paladin nerf, but the difference is that these classes do have weaknesses and can be countered if they start to flood the meta.

Secret and Aggro Paladin both have no counter in the current meta, which is hugely concerning.

I learned something new today.

Thanks!!
