Hi, my opponent had venture co. mercenary on the board ( your minions cost 3 more) and no mana left. But he/she was still able to play zero mana Edwin drawn from Galakrond. It shouldn’t be possible, right? Or how does it work please?
Typically, effects are applied in the order in which they were played.
So if your opponent played Galakrond after having Venture Co. Mercenary on the board already, then Edwin (base cost 3) was first made more expensive by Venture (cost 6), then reduced to zero by Galakrond.
If your opponent played Galakrond, kept Edwin in hand, and then got the Venture Co on board, Edwin would have been reduced to zery by Galakrond, then increased by 3 for a new total of 3 by the Venture Co.
First he played Galakrond and then he evolved lifedrinker into Venture
Would you happen to have the replay on hand?
It is a strange card because it does not contain any of the known mechanics like ‘’ battlecry ‘’
Even i should have expected that it is a kinda of hidden ‘’ aura ‘’ applied at all times.
Like the jaina mage hero that lifesteal will always be applied regardless of you silencing one of their elementals.

That’s … unexpected.
Thanks for providing the replay (and for people who don’t want to juggle with spaces in a link, here is the unabridged version: https://hsreplay.net/replay/5oaXJiJf2qDLmqij46eR4f
- the action is in turn 8).
This does not match with how I would expect it to happen. Not sure if that means it’s a bug or if that means there’s something I don’t understand.
I recommend posting this to the Bug Report forum (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/hearthstone/c/bug-report/8), including the hsreplay link. Check the sticky at the top of that forum so you can post the link without having to manhandle it.
Perhaps someone there can explain why this is correct. And if not, then it will make Blizzard aware of the problem.
Thank you. I am gonna post it there so…
