So well, I’ve been playing for a long time and yes I get it, it’s not my thing anymore, no need to tell me so in the comments and to leave angry letters at the door.
It’s just… weird. The only really enjoyable experience is playing with people I know, simply because the game lost the feeling of being a game. Classic was the best time but now a lot of games feel like there is no interaction at all.
Be it having your board frozen for 12 turns straight or just not getting to play at all, a lot of cards that are being printed take out a lot of the fun of it.
I somewhat wished there was a mode to only play with basic and classic cards.
If WOW classic is a thing why not hearthstone classic?
I just miss the times of playing with weak cards and hitting each other, when games weren’t either get stomped or stomp with no mercy.
Before the introduction of absolutely bonkers cards that sucked the game of joy.
Yes sure, I am not saying you can’t win, I am just saying that for me myself I preferred when there were less cards and the average power level was still in check.
Every expansion usually introduces some new completly oppressive thing you can do and I don’t really want the cards to begin with, I wish I could play classic hearthstone without always having to ask a friend to create a deck.

I would guess that because
- splitting the playerbase
- People would get tired of it quickly and return back to Standard
- You can have your ‘Classic’ Hearthstone with friends; just play with Basic/Classic cards and there you go!
- And comparing Hearthstone to WoW, two completely different genres and audiences, and asking why Hearthstone can’t do the same WoW does is pretty silly

We did a brawl of that, it was incredibly dull and everyone stopped playing it pretty sharpish (just like the commons only brawl).
Also you want to bring back vanilla and the thing your example to be angry about is freeze mage? You do realise that all the ‘freeze’ mage cards are classic and that deck is vanilla as they come?
Pretty sure you’re viewing vanilla with some rose tinted specs here. That doesn’t mean that any gripes you have with the current stat of the game aren’t valid of cause.

It was an example, yes I could list tons of cards and the dull part was not the freeze but the instant one-shot that followed after by the quest.
Or draw rogue who just draws and returns all your cards while shuffeling around 200 cards into their deck.
Or shudderwock, was just dull to play against,
mecha’thun is literal singleplayer for one.
Would it be dull? Maybe, I would even be fine to put in some of the not as crazy first few ones, but wild is the only place to play with old cards but they are also mixed with new absolutely broken ones
Just delete hero cards and the odds and evens. Done.
If we just had classic hearthstone all these years with no cards added how many people do you think would actually still be playing? Games will always evolve when they are out for a long time or else they will become stale.
If we go back to ‘classic HS’, can we also undo all nerfs?

Comparing Hearthstone to World of Warcraft is like comparing our moon to the Sun. Hearthstone is tiny and only contains a fraction of the World of Warcraft and its not even a big fraction.
