Idea for mode, for people that like to use brain

So we get a spinning drum simmulator called “Battlegrounds” that is on end of one spectrum of RNG.

So I suggest, that next developed mode need to be a “no RNG game”. Maybe something very similiar to chess, or turn-tactics games, where players play on classic 8x8 board. Every player has the same pieces. Because it’s a Hearthstone pieces can have different moveset than chess and (no RNG) abilities. Maybe something like INTO THE BREACH.

Chess are still one of the most played game in the World. And it will be nice, to play a mode in Hearthstone, that has some depth.

instead of waiting for the developer of a casual-oriented (mobile) game to make a chess-like tactics game, you could go out and look for such a game that already exists.

If you think you don’t need to use your brain in battlegrounds and it’s just entirely RNG then you don’t understand the mode at all.

that actually sounds like an interesting experiment. if no brain was required, then one could just play with certain fixed rules and should expect the same results as someone, who tries to find the optimal play every turn.

for example the rules could be to:

  • always level up if you have enough coins
  • always buy the left-most minion
  • always put newly bought minions on the left side
  • always pick the left-most minion if you can discover one from a golden minion.

there should be no difference in result if the same person tries to play optimally, both for a significant sample size.

thing is, even if someone did that and would get different results with both approaches, people here wouldn’t change their mind because of it. but it would be interesting nonetheless :smiley:

If you want a mode like that, you’re probably better off asking it in the forum of a chess simulatir that can be modded.
Anyway, they just released a new game mode, so I don’t expect we’ll get another one soon

If you want a mode where you can use your brain and actually get rewarded for it, then I advice you to try real life.

You do realise you’re telling this to a game who’s selling point is that they have a large amount of RNG as no other card game can do that due to being physical and not on a computer. Also 8x8, that will never work on a phone, unless you want the cards so microscopic that there would literally have to be a zoom in feature just to play. Anyway if you want to play chess in hearthstone, might I suggest downloading a chess simulator.
