Idea for Tech card

I think we all get annoyed when having to dodge secrets, so we have anti-secret tech. But if you include that it’s an understatted card against decks that don’t run secrets.

Weapons are the same story. If you run ooze to combat weapon rogue, or even warrior/paladin, it’s just an understatted card vs everyone else.

Same for silence.

How about a kind of wildcard, like the hunter kodo (discover a weapon, secret, or spell), which lets you choose a tech card. Maybe like zeph but way toned down so it would offer you counter secret, weapon, or silence.

The game needs more counter cards for sure. imo
More “opponents Spells and Minions cost more next turn” cards.
A card what could change a copy of another card in your own hand would be good aswell.

Everyone would be running that card, for sure! Sounds extremely unbalanced.

To be fair they’re not under stated anymore (except silence which they’ve made clear that only class cards are gona be value silence). 2 mana 3/2, 4 mana 5/4, 3 mana 3/4 are fine stat wise, but vanilla cards just aren’t good enough to warrant deck spots.

That said an understated discover counter would be an interesting tech card. Maybe discover options of Secret destruction, weapon destruction and draw a card so it’s not dead but still bad in other matchups.

Not if it was a 10 mana 0/1. There’s definitely a balance point where it’s a card that should only be picked in certain metas.

Keep in mind that, if I understood correctly, this would be a neutral card with multiple techs in it. In that sense, either it is absurdly expensive and no one runs it, or so powerful everyone runs it. I don’t see this (a neutral swiss army knife of techs) as at all healthy. Just my opinion though.

My idea is a less OP version of zeph.

I think there’s a balance where if it hits a weapon or a secret then it’s good and if it doesn’t it’s meh. I had a quick look through the cards in standard an i actually couldn’t find a good third option to choose from so I was just thinking of a counter to weapons or secrets (think AND is too much of a specific hate card), rather than the swiss army knife like Zeph (I do not like that card).

Ixnay, either I’m missing something or you are missing something, mate. :slight_smile: Jade CLEARLY said that it should be a card like the Hunter Kodo where one of the discovery slots would be for weapon removal, another one for secret removal and the third one for silence. Meaning, you’d have literally 6 tech choices if you ran two of these in a normal deck. Two of these would be everywhere.

I immediately removed silence from the equation as they have actively stated that they want that to in general be a class mechanic and I agree that giving that as the thirds option is impossible to balance.
