Im playing rock paper scissors

I really hate how high roll dependant the meta has become. I went on a 13 win streak at 2k legend, then 8 loss streak, and back and forth.

Turn 4 balinda
Turn 3/4 gnoll > 10 mana drop
Turn 5 20/3 weapon 20/20 ghost
Turn 3 7/10 imp
Turn 4 hydraladon
Turn 4 8/8 pelagos

It really just feels like whoever gets a luckier draw wins.

I feel the same way. But I wonder every time how people do those high rolls. My collection is large enough to battle test all those hot new decks. After some games you actually find out how many of them are RNG dependent and how often it does not go your way - until you face the deck and just stare in awe at things like you listed above.

“How the hell are they getting that stuff every time exactly on curve?”

especially when you play those decks

Yes, exactly. So the big question is: “How the hell am I making those people so lucky?”

It’s not just you. I’ve actually done quite well on the ladder this season getting back up to diamond 1-5, considering I haven’t played ranked for about 6 months, but virtually every time I play a rogue they have 2 10/10 minions by turn 5, every time I play a warlock they have at least one of their locations in their starting hand allowing them to snowball early, every time I play a druid they have their 3 and 5 cost ramp cards on the respective early turns.

I’ve played all those decks, it happens once every 5-6 games, yet nearly every time I’m drawn against them they have the necessary cards.

I’ve often wondered if I’m missing a trick to mulligans as I very rarely get really good mulligans that provide good curve and very often have to play strategically to get control of the game, but I see all these guides telling you to mulligan for this and mulligan for that which, in a deck of 30-40 cards is statistically unlikely. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve mulliganed a card and got exactly the same card back again…in a 1/20 chance… and yet my opponents very often seem to mulligan extremely well.
