In-game data privacy

Taking into consideration new in-game spy features like “Smart deck builder” and “Smart arena balancer” I have a reasonable question.

How does it covered in License agreement ?

As for me, I don’t want “my” deck or playstyle to be a public domain. Don’t consider me paranoid but, It’s unpleasant when someone secretly watches me.

I think any and every pvp game has replay features, at least those with a report feature, plus, did you really read the terms of privacy

I only found this link

3. Why do we process your data?

Blizzard collects and uses your data for the following purposes:

Gameplay Experience. Creating the well-designed, highly enjoyable entertainment experiences you can find within our epic games! This includes:

Progress and History

  • Examples of data used:
    • GAME DATA: Game stats, match history, quest in progress, etc.

In-game Social

  • Examples of data used:
    • GAME DATA: Guild information, friends list, etc.

Unlocks

  • Examples of data used:
    • GAME DATA: Inventory items: collection of cards, gold, dust, armory, skills, etc.

Game Currency

  • Examples of data used:
    • GAME DATA: Earnings history, items a player can/has purchase(d): portraits, skins, heroes, cards, etc.

Don’t you think that your personal deck and playstyle is something more than simple “game data” ?

Legitimate interest. We use your data for purposes that are not harmful to your privacy and that can be reasonably expected within the context of your relationship with Blizzard. This includes using information for:

  • Ad Targeting via ‘Paid Media’
  • Ad Targeting via ‘Custom Audience’ and similar systems—Appropriate ads for players considering their previous purchases (Your unencrypted personal data are never shared with third parties without your consent.)
  • Analytics & Data Segmentation
  • Business Optimization and Service Development
  • Publishing Email - Marketing Campaigns
  • Research Groups
  • Training & Development
  • Customer Support

What if your data collecting services hurts me ? It can easily copy-paste my deck or multiply counter-decks ?

Can you please elaborate your point witouth the quotes, I don’t have the same concerns as you so how could I reach the same conclusions in order to have this conversation work

Nope. I don’t. Because it isn’t.

I tend to the fact that Blizzard may abuse my personal data.
Moreover, I don’t have ability to erase it from their databases.

You could say that about literally any company. If you think they do it and you don’t want them to, stop playing their games and uninstall them. Simple as that.

So, what if I spent a lot of money on in-game purchases ? Terms of privacy guaranteed me… privacy. I don’t want my unique paid deck be a brothel.

… You know, the more you type, the more I’m convinced that you’re just a troll.

Your personal data are your name, address, email, bank information, credit card information, your sexually preferences, NOT in game balance, nor witch card you have and what you have bought.

Why did you ignore my response? I feel like Spideros went a bit off with the assumption that you are afraid of the algorithms of the game cheating you as personal data is not match/deck information but what Toma said, and I can’t recall you stating that that is your problem.

Sry, it was deep night.

Why is “my” deck and how I play it not my private data ?

You can ask blizzard to send the stored data about you.

click on the miscellaneous rectangle, it can take up to 30 days.

Well my economy logic and pylosophy teacher would disagree, private data is a term that derives from specialized fields (and refers to certain personal and sensitive data) and has found common use after it became an important matter for most “civilized” countries. You lead me to confusion, please excuse me as well.

I advice you to read through the terms and condition and agreements files in order to find out what they are doing with your data.
However if your suspicions are true they might as well not appear in any clause, no one can prove them cheating their players andeven if the game was rigged I’m not sure that would be ilegal XD, on the other hand, I tend to believe it can’t be as that wouldmean impossibility of win streaks and more, I could elaborate, if you are interested please ask.
