Dead on turn 4 in 1shot when you don’t get lucky draws is just ridiculous and irritating as
Power word shield>Divine Spirit>Inner Fire.
Of course it also works later game.

I had a void lord and tar lord with mass corruption on his minions and he mass dispels and does that autistic combo and 1shots me…
Yeah the combo is as old as the game itself, somewhere in the future i guess the card will be going to the hall of fame when it gets out of hand, but not today,
Some advice,
Try to take the board as soon as possible but dont overextend with minions and dont leavea single minion alive. with a high health count.
in wild it can be even more ridiculous since sometimes its betyter to not even play a minion of your own since the cards potion of madness, pint size potion and shadow madness can lose you the match to.
If Inner Fire bothers you that much, play Skulking Geist.
If he runs cards specifically to beat you, why don’t you play cards specifically to beat him?

Sure inner fire can be devastating. But realistically: it is overwhelming only in a combo with several cards. Sometimes combo players do get lucky and hit the combo at correct junction, sometimes they don’t - I don’t think inner fire combos are that spectacular compared to many others.
Also: essentially the same attack boost can be achieved with topsy-turvy or alchemist.
That said, inner fire is worryingly good when the stars align:
turn 1: coin + radiant elemental + PW shield + PW shield
turn 2: divine spirit + divine spirit + inner fire & 28 to face
I have played this once, but I dont expect a repeat of this lucky draw
You only really have to put up with this combo for a few more weeks, once the new expansion hits priests will lose the ability to mass resurrect and resurrect specific minions so a one turn huge minion combo is going to be a lot tougher to pull off (assuming priests get no new resurrection cards with the new expansion)
I’m sure people will still find something ‘unfair’ to cry about though
