Luna's pocket galaxy is too much

Legit its just like keleseth on turn 1. but worse.
According to hearthstone devs, the class identity of mage is not to swarm the board with a lot of minions. The amount of big boi spams you can throw out with pocket galaxy + luna and Khadgar + power of creation/conjurers calling just results in massive boards without much effort. Fighting a luna mage with a slow deck is even harder than playing against aggro decks wtf

They also said warlock should lack massive healing yet in wild they can easily heal 3-4 times back to 30 from under 10. I demand a nerf to warlock.
But really, the problem, if there was one, is mountain giant, get it hall of famed

Expectation: Card generation is Shaman’s weakness.
Reality: Card generation is Shaman’s weakness when their hand is full of generated cards and they can’t have anymore.

To be fair, they only really set in stone the class identities they want to work towards in the last couple of months and a lot of these things that don’t fit into these class identities are remnants of older expansions. Pocket Galaxy, Hunter being able to do ridiculous healing through Zilliax or Dire Frenzy, Paladin being able to OTK with a direct damage spell. They are all things that will be weeded out in the next rotation.

They’ve Identified what they want these identities to be and will work towards them, but it’s going to take time for them to get out the things that don’t fit and bring in viable class options that do without completely breaking classes in the process.

At the same time though, just because something is a weakness, doesn’t mean it should necessarily be wiped out completely from a classes toolkit, it just won’t be something they are really good at doing

My only golden hero is mage and it’s my main class. And I agree with you. Mage do well without giant or conj call.

+1 to pocket galaxy being dumb. Clearly broken, just give a message when itll be fixed

LPG is strong.

But it is not too strong.

Card works as intended, nothing to fix

I have to admit, I thought the buff to LPG was needed, reducing from 7 mana to 5, because it was all but unplayable at that cost. But adding in a 5/5 minion in Tortollan Pilgrim that can find and cast it from your deck has pushed it’s power level up even further to be honest

I’ve lost every single one of the games that this card was played. I mean… EVERY… SINGLE… ONE! Do you know what that means? Do you?! IT MEANS TWO THINGS THAT I WILL EXPLAIN!

FIRST! and pay attention I shall say this only once (*)… It means the card is a direct counter to the decks I tend to build. My decks are typically not proactive and tend, also typically to finish games by generating enormous tempo or value swings. Luna Pocket Galaxy basically negates both.

SECOND! pay attention class! Luna’s Pocket Galaxy won every single game I SAW IT BEING played. This means that I missed all the games I won where it wasn’t played. Maybe it was in deck, maybe not. But I don’t know. I just won the game.

I find it a pretty strong card that basically ruins my win conditions. Just like my Plague of Murlocs ruins Big Priest win condition when I draw it in time. Is it annoying? Yeah, like hell… it’s a slow death for my decks… so what?

(*) pun intended for those who appreciate English TV humor of the 80s

And yet ironically it was a ‘french’ character that coined the phrase :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s derail this nonsense thread because portuguese northern white wine is legit stuff! Recognizing the sentence gives you the rare opportunity of being one of my best friends.

when it’s cast for 8 mana by the 5/5 turtle it’s not that good, you might have already drawn you better minions (Alex) and even if not you most likely had to dig into your resources to get to that point that you are stable enough to play the 5/5 for 8 mana that does nothing until you draw a minion you want to pair with other cards, on top of that, now your opponent has 9-10 mana to answer your Alex, and whatever else you pair it with, which he’s much more likely to be able to do than he is at 5-6

don’t you think

Well, firstly in that that kind of deck I wouldn’t even consider dropping Alex that early unless I had lethal on my next turn…or to force my opponents hand. If you’re that late into the game that Alex is being played then LPG is probably next to worthless by that point anyway

But I don’t disagree with what you’re trying to say, but it does give LPG a bit of a power boost in that, if you’re in a stable enough position…like after an opponent uses a high cost board clear or you’ve got a fairly solid board out after a giant/Conjurer’s combo that hasn’t been cleared…it gives you an additional option to play it if you haven’t managed to draw it while putting a fairly solid minion on the board

Are you drunk right now?

Wouldn’t call it drunk… Relaxed is a better word.

Actually dropping Alex on 6 is a good play, you might not do it if you have nothing to play with it but even then your top decks are mostly too good on average not to drop her

Yeah but that’s only if you’ve managed to get LPG out on 5 which is a different scenario

Problem with LPG is that you really cannot do anything about it, set up counterspell on turn 5 and hope they are stupid? Kill them before turn 5? Only fun games can come out of that…
