Mage is the good, the quest and the quest again

Okay I have 2 problems with mage right now which as a mage main since the begging of the game, I think I started to play at Rastakans Rumble. I have always liked playing mage because of a variation of spells and I find some of the things about it very interesting. However with this new expansion I have 2 problems

  1. Highlander mage: do I need to say more, seriously, you get LPG and stargazer luna, then you can just win.

  2. Quest mage: the quest isn’t useful since you either build a deck based upon spells and have minimal board presence or have a good deck but get the quest out by turn 7-8

I don’t want to just leach off meta with highlander, also I can’t afford it with dust because I am horrible with saving :frowning: . I want to make quest mage work but it always seems lacking compared to meta decks, I feel like it should be changed to like 6-8 spells.

TL;DR Quest mage feels unusable and slow. On the other hand highlander mage is just too good with LPG and stargazing. I just want highlander to be nerfed and quest to be buffed.

Note: idk how to balance cards at all

getting the quest by turn 8 is good, quest rogue does the same very often, and it’s still a good turn for those value oriented quests, with the mage one you require mana and do not affect the board directly, so it’s best to wait for it to use it in the mid and late game

the mage quest is one of those that will always gain support, like the old priest and warrior quest, the devs won’t stop printing good deathrattles and taunts so the power level of those quests will increase with time, unlike the current paladin quest, as they aren’t likely to print any more reborn minions this one will only get weaker

this time I think we need to wait on the mage quest and also to wait for LPG mage to shape the meta as it’s much easier to counter than CW when this one shapes the meta CW will be less cared about, aggro decks will come back, it will fall out of power and so it will most likely change into a less greedy version of itself, besides, in only ~8 months it should rotate to wild where it’s a very fair card, unlike Skull of the Man’ari for example which didn’t get nerfed

F for paladin, the quest we dont want, but deserve

Well highlander mage is actually 1 of 4 control mage decks doing equally well (BSM, Dragon and plain control mage), so it’s not really the highlander effect that’s particularly strong in mage at the moment.

The quest definitely seems weak but I always just saw it as a meme card from the moment it was announced, so I’m not surprised.
