Main 2 unfair cards

Played hearthstone since beta, always loved i. Every now and again cards come along that have no counterplay, cards that just do what they do, win games and there’s nothing you can do to play around it. These cards are what stop people.playing card games. It isn’t fun to play against, it’s cheap as the player and all in all just feels bad. At the moment I believe there are 2 of these pretty unfair cards, Zephrys being the first.

Create a big board or a small board with one hard to remove minion? Cleared the board but you got the oppent at 2hp? Just managed to save yourself and you have a comebak ready for the next turn? Got a wall of taunts to save you from the enemy board? Doesn’t matter Zephrys is just a get out of jail free card, gives lethal whenever possible or just totally clears your board while swinging the game in favour to the opponent. No card should be able to just swing the game in any situation whatsoever.

Second unfair card is a long time stander, and that’s shadowstep. Why this card hasn’t been moved to wild only yet is beyond me. Rogue gets off a powerful combo, current example would be shadowjewler hanar. Then just outs the main combo piece back into their hand. And if that’s all on one turn there’s nothing you can do about it, you can’t play around it, you just have to respond and hope you live. Then next turn they get the whole combo again, except this time the combo piece costs 2 less mana meaning they can go even more crazy, followed by another shadowstwp and them the cycle repeats over and over.

There’s other things that feel unfair at times like aoe board freeze and secrets, but they can be played around and aren’t half as infuriating as shadowstep or zephrys.

Rant over, thanks for reading
TLDR: Shadowstep.all and zephrys can’t be played around, are non interactive as the opponent = no fun and sad times

Some Cards which swing games

Amazing Reno, Zephrys, Queendragon Alexstrara, Kaelthis Sunstrider, Galagrond certain classes. These are just a few not including the cards in Wild there are plenty.

All those albatrosses would beg to differ

Even though I disagree, I think that’s a fair point of view. I will be happy when Zephrys rotates next year but I’m fine with it being around until then.

Shadowstep is a dead card so often, that I find it to be a fair trade off. It can obviously feel terrible if you’re on the back end of the one game when all the pieces come together and your deck can’t cope in that instance but they would have died to aggro way more by having it as a dead card.
