Missing cards, the ones I noticed: 2 x Bladestorm

I had a Wild Warrior deck that was working until the new expansion, now it is stating that it is missing 2 copies of the card Bladestorm, which I had before. Please restore the cards that your expansion deleted for no reason.

Did you have Bladestorms from the Core set? The cards in that set rotate, you need to get them from the Ashes of Outland expansion.

EDIT: Indeed, the core set rotation this year included Bladestorm leaving.

I had the Bladestorms card twice already. They shouldn’t have been taken away for no reason.

Do keep in mind the Core version of Bladestorm is different from the Ashes of Outland version. If you have the latter version, you can check your collection and add those to the deck to replace the core versions.

What are you talking about regarding versions? I have Hearthstone. The game Hearthstone has different modes like ‘Standard’ and ‘Wild’. As far as I’m aware, wild allows the use of any cards you have. ‘versions’ has not turned up in the game, and does not explain why cards have been deleted from ‘All’.

Right, I suppose I need to explain it a bit.

There are (Or, more accurately, were) two versions of Bladestorm, the Core set and the Ashes of Outland set. The Core set is available to everyone for free and some cards in it rotate with every year to keep the Core set fresh. These cards are taken from existing sets (Some in Wild, some from previous Standard year’s sets) and given to players to use for free while they’re in the set - these cards are labeled as being from the Core set in your collection…

With the newest expansion they removed some cards from the Core set to make way for new ones.

Let’s take the Warrior spell “I Know A Guy”, which is available to everyone right now. The spell is from the Core set, but was originally introduced in the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan card set in 2016.
Here is the spell from the Core set in my collection: https://i.imgur.com/xuQJWC2.png

And here is the same spell from my collection, but from the Gadgetzan set: https://i.imgur.com/MmW8adZ.png Take note of the fact that I can disenchant the card or upgrade it to golden, which Core set cards cannot do.

What I suspect has happened is that your deck happened to take cards from the Core deck and once the Core set was updated the Bladestorms were not updated to become the Ashes of Outland set versions in your deck. So if you have the spells from the Ashes of Outland card set, where they first introduced it, you can use them by either manually dragging them into the deck or by copypasting your deck’s code into the game (You can do so from the decklist in the collection by selecting the deck, hovering the mouse above the name and selecting Copy, then making a new deck - where it will then ask you whether you want to automatically create a deck with the code that you copied).

Unfortunately this also means that if you do not have the cards from the original set in which they were introduced… You need to craft them or unpack them from card packs from that set (And Bladestorm is an Epic card, so they’re rather expensive). A shame, but they were basically “loaned” cards.

So they’ve come up with some way to take our cards, make it seem legitimate in the hope of making us pay more money?

Is there any way to distinguish the core cards from the cards acquired from the other sets? I am currently missing Soulstealer, Zola the Gorgon, Flik Skyshiv and Cenarius in my decks. I’m fine with the fact that we temporarily get free core cards but I would like to see a clear indication on the cards that they are part of the free core set and not acquired through regular packs.

I also wonder whether the ‘automatic disenchant’ feature doesn’t disenchant ‘duplicates’ that aren’t duplicates. That would be a surefire way to get people to destroy their own cards. Current I can disenchant extra cards for 1175 mana while I did not purchase ANY packs. This is since the new expansion launched.

No, basically you loaned cards from the Core set. You don’t have them permanently unless you craft them from their respective sets.

Sorta. If you check your collection, switch to Wild mode and search for the card with the filter for the respective set it came from.
Then if you want the Core version, you switch back to standard and search for the card again. The flavor text has the set it comes from so that is a good way to distinguish them. The two pictures I linked showcase the difference above the card quality text.
