My return to Ranked

I’ve had this conversation with some of you. If that was the case, apologies for having to go through this again. I returned to Ranked this past season, but with a catch. I used to play meta decks in Ranked either to try them out or to get the 5 wins. Most of my time was spent in Casual though, playing my own decks or some fun decks from other people.

This season, and after a brief discussion here in the forums, I decided to simply play my own decks in Ranked most of the time and this is the result…

Some people will cry noob and I don’t mind. The truth is that I’m damn happy with the results. This rank 11, achieved mostly with my decks, means a lot more to me than the rank 5 grind I did a bit more than a year ago. To be honest that rank 5 grind was probably one of the major reasons why I left the game for a whole year.

To all of you that have put up with me, thank you so much. Some weeks ago I was wondering how I could enjoy and improve and with your help I’m doing exactly this.

I’ll shut up now. Thank you!

Just imagine Hearthstone if everyone did this. What a fun time we’d have.

Rank 11 is the place to be, start the new month without worrying about losing stars

Good Vlad. Now reach rank 11 with Warlock

@Chicharito, I think the consequences of everyone doing this would bad for the game, to be honest. The player base would shrink considerably. Also, yesterday I had two games with snowflake decks that are somewhat related to this. One of them, a Priest running all sort of steal cards, was brilliantly piloted. I lost with my own cards. It was a lot of fun! The other, a Shaman that barely understood what a deck is, was boring, one-sided. I don’t think I’d want a playing field filled without Spikes.

@Ixnay, speaking of which, do people park? For instance, do you grind to rank 10 and then play wacky decks? I know some streamers do this at rank 5.

@Phillybear: If I kept playing the Warlock deck I started with I would probably get higher than that. I couldn’t have written this thread though.

Let me rephrase my previous comment: now reach rank 11 with homebrew Warlock

Challenge accepted with way more characters than needed because forum rules are nonsensical.

No wonder I couldn’t win any games in casual if they are all higher than ranks 20 - 18 on there lol

Kinda. It’s more that typically I don’t want to lose stars in case I feel like taking on the grind later in the month.

I’m usually parked around the rank 15-14 mark playing “bad” decks, then if I get one of those to rank 13, I’ll often switch to only playing my ok decks until I hit rank 10. Then repeat, few ranks of fun, then hit a marker if I some how win
