New Card Reveal....anti-big priest tech?

So another card has been revealed and its another shaman card…….Plague of Murlocs.

This 3 cost card transforms all minions on the board into random murlocs!

Seems like Blizzard have heard all those cries for ways to combat Big Priest (and the supposedly OP conjurer mage)

Yep, pretty cool card. And it interacts in many different ways with the decks I play.

  • Basically destroys my Anyfin combo
  • I’ve been having some success with Jade Shaman lately and one of the reasons is Devolve + AOE. With this card, Murloc Shaman can have a comeback against me, not only against my Devolve but also against my big green men.
  • Not that it matters since it’s a meme, but my Big Thadius Priest would suffer badly with this.

And yes, it just wrecks Big Priest so badly it’s not even funny. I wonder where will Shaman evolve into in Standard though.

Honestly this just looks like a fun card, i can already see both boards are full, opponent had the stronger minions, plague of murlocks and then using stormbringer

(Also i just felt like putting the card of it here)

Thanks for doing that, I haven’t actually figured out how to do that…or if I even can. Every way I’ve tried of embedding an image it says I’m not allowed. Out of interest can you explain how you managed so I can see if you’ve done it differently and, if so, try it

i just go to the website on the uldum cards library, right click a card and “copy link adress”, but to be fair, i do have the trust level (somehow) to be allowed to post links, also when you do get to post link, have it beside text to show up like this https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/cards?set=saviors-of-uldum or heve it separated with some enter key presses to display the link

This is absurdly strong, even stronger than Devolve in my opinion, and I’m not a fan of cards that allow you to easily reclaim the board (combined with a small board clear, e.g. Lightning Storm). I think it’s safe to say that Shaman will be absurdly powerful in this expansion and I really hope that this isn’t Shamanstone 2 - Totemic Mrgaloo

I can’t believe this costs less than mine… which is actually correct…enough wit diversity, this is gonna be sweet, imagine it in different arena scenarios to realize why.
btw. now we need a murloc that draws murlocs based on murlocs :wink:

100% agree, at least with devolve, if your high cost minions get devolved you at least end up with some reasonably strong minions, but this just annihilates a Big archetypes board…stupidly strong

Definitely. I’m actually surprised this card is only 3 mana, especially considering how much benefit shamans, particularly murloc shamans, can get out of it. It can also potentially turn Old Murk Eye into a HUGE weapon in Wild format

They can’t make it 4/6 mana though because “We have turned our curse into Wild’s curse” exists, so that’s unfortunate.

Yeah fair point. But it is VERY strong for 3 mana…although I guess it could be argued that it is actually weaker than Equality as a removal tool and, as such, shouldn’t cost the same

To be honest, anything that mucks up Rezz Priest in Wild has at least the benefit of the doubt from me, if only because it will return the Wild Meta to a more fun state (IMO).

And Murlocs are cool, only less cool than Gnomes and Goblins (speaking of which: when will we see some Gnome/Parvink! Heroes in the Shop, Blizz? Take my money!)

It’s definitely a good counter to Big Priest, but unfortunately given to a class that already had a way to mess up the resurrect pool (Hex).
I really hope that the classes that so far are completely powerless get something too.

And it’s a very nice counter to the current influx of decks that stack magnetic upon magnetic, and of course Giant / Conjurer mage.

How succesful it is against wide boards … I think that depends on RNG. There are lots of Murloc with aura buffs to other Murlocs. So it is possible to get several of those and end up with an insane board.
I wonder when we’ll see the first Shaman build that spams the board with ultra-cheap fodder and then casts Plague of Murlocs and prays for good synergies…
