New Legendary Rogue minion: Anka, the Buried

After what is most likely the WORST card reveal ever made, we got a new Rogue legendary:

Cost: 5 mana
Stats: 5/5
Battlecry: Change each Deathrattle minion in your hand into a 1/1 that costs (1).

Glad Rogue got some Deathrattle support, I was scared the Boomsday archetype had been abandoned.
The card itself is very good, and might become even better with new deathrattle cards that may or may not be printed. Right now you can go

  • T5: Anka
  • T6: Mechanical Whelp + Necrium Vial - 20/20 (27/27) worth of stats for 5+6 mana.

haha, not really… if you have two eggs in your hand you can easily break them

Worst card REVEAL. Waiting for an hour to see a couple of sand particles move from a card is a terrible way to get players hyped up.

What Deathrattle minions would you love to have as 1-drops? There’s Blightnozzle Crawler, Mechanical Whelp, Myra Rotspring might actually feel better to play, Deranged Doctor for that healing Rogues currently lack, hell, maybe someone figures out a way to make Mecha’thun work on Rogue! Shouldn’t be that hard with Myra’s Unstable Element around.

And let’s not forget that Necrium Vial can be used on minions like Mechanical whelp much easier when the whelp costs only one.

I don’t know if Deathrattle Rogue is going to be a thing again, like it kinda was before the rotation. At least I played it a lot with good success. But this certainly helps it to happen. And we haven’t even seen most of the set or even Rogue’s cards yet!

But if there’s not going to be new good Deathrattle minions in this set, I’m afraid this card won’t see play. :confused:

Also that card art is HORRIFYING! :scream:

I mean my first thought was Mecha’Thun but not sure how you survive long enough to play all your cards, even if you use Myra’s.

This definitely goes in the scary potential category but currently in standard I think it needs more than the whelps high roll to see play. Could easily be wrong as it’s stated reasonably enough that maybe it’s worth using in a shell with the weapon, the vial seems currently ambitious.

Seems everyone is forgetting this:

Epic · Spell · Saviors of Uldum · Silence and destroy all minions.

That is assuming Priest reaches turn 9 or 8 before the Rogue plays her 1/1s and kills them off one way or another.

But yes, that card is going to be problematic. It’s going to be problematic to everyone, I think. Really hate that card, to be honest with you. I like Shaman’s Earthquake better…

That card is 9 turns into the game. Rogue popping off it’s death rattles is ideally turn 6. If you are vsing a priest and it is turn 9+ you simply don’t commit all the death rattles to the board. Plague of death is super easy to play around. You overestimate it’s usefulness in this match up.

Aggro rogue but with mech’thun instead of nomi or whatever combo they picked

Basically, except Vanish isn’t a thing and Evasion is in Wild.
