Bit of a low key announcement but:
A few years back, we made changes to how opening card packs works to ensure that every time you got a Legendary card, it would be one that you didn’t already have. Starting March 26, we’re extending this to cards of all rarities!
![SURPRISE!]Once this change goes live, you will no longer receive more than two copies of any Common, Rare, or Epic until you have owned two copies of all cards of that rarity in a set. Crafting a card counts towards acquiring it, and any cards you acquire and later disenchant (whether golden or non-golden) count as well. This means that if you get a card that you don’t want, you can disenchant it and you will not receive it again until you have all cards of that rarity from that set. This change does not affect the overall distribution of rarities in card packs.
What this means is that you’ll get every common/rare for a very small amount of packs now. Epics will be slightly better (way better if you spend money on top), taking out that hideous low roll we’ve all bound to have had at one stage. Massive thumbs up for me on this one

this is only done because it tricks players into buying more packs than they otherwise would because it makes them think that they’d get all cards if they only bought 100-ish more packs.
this is pure greed by blizzard.

But overall I’m not certain how many people will get “tricked”, simply because you’re gona start getting triplicate commons extremely quickly, so hopefully people will question it then.

I found this to be an interesting thought. if it worked like that, you’d only need 50 packs to get a complete expansion.

We got those topics when they introduced the no triplicates IN THE SAME PACK change, so it’s almost a guarantee.

Blizzard has lately become the company that develops the next best thing since slice bread, then fails to understand what made it so successful and proceeds to kill it
Does anyone know whether will this be affecting preexisting sets in standard and classic?
As far üas i heared it the set doesnt matter.
So if you get yourself a classuc pack it should give you no dupes as well

What will happen after I have all the cards in the game and then I try to open more packs?
then you get duplicates. the dupe protection only works for a certain rarity of a certain set while you don’t have all cards of that same rarity of that same set.
Once you’ve had ever common twice, you’ll start to get duplicate commons, same with rares etc.
What the change really means is f2p daily quest players will definitely get all the commons/rares and will avoid triplicate epics. People who spend money, have to spend a fair bit less to get absolutely everything.
One thing I don’t fully understand yet is whether the duplicate protection rule for legendaries will now be changed to match the new dupe protection rule for other rarities, or remain unchanged?
(The difference being: the current legendary dupe protection cares about what you possess, so if you dust a legendary you can open it again; the new rule as I understand it cares about what you have opened or crafted in the past, even if you dusted it later).
The way it’s worded implies that the legendary rule is staying as is.
Honestly i think this is a great change and it is sad that people think that this is to trick them. Even so it is clearly only advantageous.
Only downside… be careful and dont make an Mistake disentchanting, because than you wont see the card again.
Also i thought something was wrong with my Disentchant button since i didnt get any dupes for so long. But now i know why. And again i think its good.
