Pay 2 Win game- I am out

I haven’t played Hearthstone for a while but a week ago I decided to play again as I missed playing card games. The reason I had stopped playing was that I realized that the only way to actually win was to just complete a specific deck for each champion and then try to get to the winning “hand”, no tactics, no variation in strategies, and therefore no challenge. But i was wrong. There was a challenge after all. To complete the decks you needed to win you had to play night and day but also to be extremely lucky when you opened a “hard earned” pack. Even if I had all the time in the world and the day was 48 hrs long I could complete the set for 1 champion at best. There was another way though to complete those sets and it was pretty easy and fast… I am sure you guessed it… PAY for those decks… It is Blizzard’s right to have a P2W game ,like it or not ,but to advertise it as a free-strategy-card game is a joke. Hearthstone is DEAD… I would recommend to play TFT in League of Legends if you are into strategy games

If you keep up with daily/weekly quest you can easily have a top deck for free. I mean the current no.1 deck, aggro Druid costs literally 0 for anyone that keeps up (you get enough gold between sets to get every common/rare + mini set).

The cost of standard has massively decreased over the years mostly due to the non-duplicate rule but it’s pretty much always remaining pay/massive grind to get variety in constructed, not p2w.

If you not willing to put in the minimal time to win 5 games a week or pay any money then yeah you won’t have many cards but that’s honestly fair.

I don’t want to play to climb ranks, I want to play to enjoy myself, grinding to complete a set isn’t for me. Apart from that hearthstone is not a strategy game anymore. The recipes are “given” and a game can be won just by having that specific set regardless of how good of a player are you. Almost every game ends the same way, again and again and again. It is mind-numbing. Just my opinion. I seek challenge when I am playing a strategy game, to have a plan and adjust it accordingly to my opponent, to win when I am better and not richer or luckier . Anyways it was a nice ride and I hope that you all hearthstone fans can make the game great again as it was in the beginning.

…it was like that in the beginning, except it was even more expensive to have the top decks. It was called wallet warrior for a reason.

Believing the game has degenerated into a clown fiesta and not wanting to play is fair enough but acting like it was free to begin with, when the grind was way worse at the beginning for f2p players is just disingenuous.

Ixnay is right, a little effort and it’s easy to keep up. Because I wasn’t that interested in the current meta’s for the last year, I literally did nothing on Hearthstone except for logging in and doing enough to complete my quests, mostly playing BG’s. Every 4 months when the new expansions were released I had easily amassed anywhere between 6000-8000 gold, enough to buy a good amount of new expansion card packs to allow me to be reasonably competitive in the new season if I wanted to play in it.

The simple fact of the matter is, in almost every game in the world, be it F2P or not, you have to put in some kind of effort to get something out of it, take something like the Final Fantasy games as an example, you PAY for that game, but you ain’t getting to the end of it without putting in some effort to grind out levels for your characters.

End of the day, the game is free…you can play it without having to pay a single penny to anyone, but because its not handed to you on a platter you’re complaining…can’t you see what’s wrong with this picture?
