Reckoning interactions - Why, oh why?

Coming back after some time away from this game, I decided to play paladin and use this lovely secret called Reckoning, which works amazingly fine when a minion hits your face or one of your minions, even if that damage dealt comes from a battlecry, except it does NOT destroy C’thun the Shattered because he does 1 dmg, 30 times, why is this game still so bad with the description of its interactions and the way it’s cards work?

I understand that C’thun deals 30 times 1 dmg, then make the card read that, otherwise, make him killable with Reckoning for dealing his 3+ points of dmg like it happens with every other single card in the game, (I have not tested against old school C’thun but I suspect the same bs interaction will take place.) like Sylvannas stopping mid-interaction to steal the enemy minion and stuff of the sort.

Yeah, yeah, it wasn’t such a big deal to loose the match, don’t really care about that, but it surprises me how some things are very well written and described and other’s are as obtuse as this mess.

Anyway, have a nice one!

I never would have thought C’thun would trigger Reckoning.

The card does say “deal 30 damage randomly split across all enemies” and “randomly split” is a key phrase you just have to learn that has meant deal damage 1 at a time since the beginning of the game e.g. mad bomber and every interaction works on that basis.

You could reword reckoning by adding the word “total” before damage to make that interaction work the way you want it too.

To be quite honest, neither did I every thing that C’Thun would trigger it. In my head, it’s very clear and simple.

I’m not saying it’s fair or not, I understand your point completely, however I think it’s written correctly and clearly expresses the effect.

Well people seem to point out the wording on C’thun is a specific phrase we’ve seen used before and that’s why it’s not technically an issue but considering the secret would activate AFTER the Battlecry anyways, I have to ask: Were you alive after that 30 damage? If not, then it wouldn’t make much difference either way now, would it?

inb4 “It should activate after he deals 3 damage and stop the battlecry to destroy it” You can’t have it both ways.

Let me be the first to say that, unlike the rest of the people who replied, I too was wondering if it would kill C’Thun after it hit your hero three times. I’ve played for maybe 5-6 years now and I had to come look this up when deciding whether to add Reckoning to the deck I’m building. So don’t think you’re the only one who wasn’t sure how the interaction would work.
For me, I kept think of how, during the nerf to the original Yog, if Yog would die in the middle of it’s battlecry the Battlecry would then cease.
Now I know though, so thanks to you for asking and to the responders for answering!
