Ascendant Scroll adds a random Mage spell to your hand that costs 2 less. Fair enough to assume that Puzzle Box of Yogg’Saron doesn’t immediately complete the quest.
So Nicholas Cage called. He wants his meme back. Also Addled Grizzly is giggling with glee.
Well then. Shaman has SI:7 Agent now, with 1 extra damage
Raid the Sky Temple:
Well, damn. My first impression; that’s going to be obnoxious to play against. Most of Mage spells are useful in some way, so this is bound to see play! Even if it won’t be competitive, which I think is unlikely cos the Hero Power is so good, it’s going to be one of the most complained cards in the game, I bet.
BEEEES!!!:
Oh no! Not the bees! NOT THE BEES, NO! I got 'em in my eyes! MY EYES! AAAAHHHH!!!
On a more serious note: this looks like a very interesting and good card! Perfect for Token Druid. I just really wished they stopped printing more support for Token Druid and gave us something else. Well, it’s just the second card of the set we’ve seen so far.
Weaponized Wasp:
Well, what can I say? It’s a very good, solid card. It’s easy for Shaman to get Lackeys before turn 4 with Sludge Slurper, EVIL Cable Rat and the new EVIL Totem. I can’t see why this wouldn’t see play.
And with the Shaman Quest reward (2-mana " Your Battlecries Trigger twice this turn" ) it’s 3-mana deal 6 damage and get a 3/3 on top of that!
Thoughts about cards: Raid the Sky Temple: Reno Jackson is just as handsome as always, I can’t wait to have his sweet as s presence and sweet as s present in my standard mage decks again. That being said, his quest kinda completes itself, it’s decent as a value tool and could easily be run by a tempo-ish mage deck or even a control Mage deck that Doesn’t run Jaina, with the cards like 8 mana “discover a 6 drop and summon it” that are now in standard this is actually nice, but I can’t see it being too good, maybe it won’t even see play, and we will sadly be deprived of that sweet as s.
BEEEES!!! I can’t believe druid gets a swarm card that fights for the board and that deals 4 damage for 3 too, this will be my favorite card of the set, period. What I will do is play this on a 1 hp minion and keep my 1/1 Bees, I love what they did here, this is a solid 4 stars in my book btw
weaponized wasp 4 mana deal 3 damage or 3 mana maybe deal 3 damage…if shaman doesn’t get a better way of getting more lackeys for less cards this won’t see play, the card is perfect for a swarm deck but if you play your murloc on 1 and your lackey on 2 this will almost ever be activated and you had a weak start, which means this is “balanced” this card is like an underbelly fence but one that you have to spend too many resources to make do with, I will have an opinion on this once more cards are revealed
I thought you can’t…weren’t there some rules? maybe not being able to have 2 up at the same time…?
well if you’re gonna you basically can play big spell mage and start the game with half your hand, but your big spells will work towards your win condition and you don’t have to run cards like Allana and pray to finish with her, you can also feel less bad for running polymorph as you have to run molten reflection, anyhow, by the time you finish your match the wallet warrior will have had enough armor to make you feel dumb :\
Yeah all of these are really good. I think I like the quest a bit less since my Mage collection is basically non-existent, but all of these are really strong.
The idea is to play Raid The Tax Office (Thanks for the inspiration you provided from the first Mage quest, Sheer!) first, then once that’s done, use the discounted spells from the hero power along with your other generated spells to quickly complete Open the Wagegap and one-two punch the opponent to death.
try it with knife juggler or Addled Grizzly, maybe Cult Master problem is that’s 6 or 7 mana and is low tempo, you need an enemy minion too, this can be a draw engine or a mass removal but it’s not for token druid and most likely not worth it in general
https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/BEEEES!!! - “Choose a minion. Summon four 1/1 Bees that attack it.”
(Emphasis mine)
It says “a minion”. Not “an enemy minion”. You can target your own minion with it. E.g. the Knife Juggler. It would do 4 juggles, then the bees would attack. I don’t know if all 4 bees die or if the attacks stop once the juggler is a zero health; in the latter case you’d still have two bees left at the end as well.
I mean if you want to play the card in token you need to have lost the board (you don’t just play this on your own minion, discard 2 cards maybe) so your whole turn would be committing to single target removal and sometimes 2-3 mana amounts of tempo
if you play it for togwaggle druid/mechthun druid so on you usually won’t have a minion on board or you won’t want to kill your own
I knew you can attack your own minion, I was gonna suggest playing this with egg cards but that idea is so trash that I didn’t want to bring it to anyone’s attention, but hey, now Ixnay/Roga/Toad/Vlad/etc. will have a lovely deck that will sting me whenever it looses a match, which will be a lot
Overkill activates if you deal “excess damage” (i.e. kill a character by doing more damage than their health, or put otherwise bring their health to below zero), but only when it happens “on your turn”.
You don’t need to be attacking (otherwise spells with overkill would not work). It has to be your turn.
On the opponent’s turn, even if you ARE attacking overkill won’t trigger (e.g. Mass Hysteria).
