Are they worth playing anymore? I was thinking of disenchanting them to craft Ziliax. Don’t get me wrong, I am not disenchanting Edd, Myra etc, I was just asking to see if Prep is worth playing anymore.
I would advice that you don’t. Preparation is still going to see some play, no doubt. But then again you don’t lose anything by doing so either; you can always craft them later if you want since you get the full dust refund if you dust them now.
Look at Wild Growth, Innervate and Nourish…yeah their usage declined a bit after their nerfs…but they were still used to decent effect. A zero cost card that effectively gives you 2 extra mana crystals? How could that still not be valuable? Especially in a class that is built on combos. As for raiding party, that will also still see use, not many classes that have targeted card draw
DE everything, if you’ll want them back you can spend the dust you gained on crafting them back again
And while Zilliax is a solid craft and better than prep and the other cards in terms of value as in your collection you should consider
- do you play wild? so will it (not) remain with you more than this year
- do you have lists that would use it? so it’s not a card you craft to just have in there, you can always just keep the dust until you need/want it into a deck
You should always dust every copy of every card that gets nerfed as there is literally no punishment because if you do choose to recraft them down the line you can at no lose of dust.
Even though it’s a little different, because it’s a classic card common, I remember having the same discussion with Mana Wyrm. I cashed in all my copies and even though I don’t think I used one since, I have packed another 2, so am 70 dust better off than those that kept theirs at the time.
