So currently I have a mage run, I am 8-1 at the moment. When drafting the deck, I got a legendary pick. The picks were Baron Geddon, N’zoth and some other random legendary. That’s when I noticed, that the heartharena tier list gives N’zoth a laughable 43 points, while Geddon is above 90. Needless to say I picked N’zoth and it is absolutely broken. All I have to do is survive to turn 10, play 2-3 decent sized deathrattle’s, Which is not particularly hard in this arena rotation and it is game over.
My question is: Why is N’zoth rated so low?
I don’t find this card so bad to be honest, but i think that it has low rating because it can combined only in a deathrattle deck to be effective. Maybe not so many people using deathrattle decks and i don’t mean having just 3-4 deathrattle in your deck. I mean decks with deathrattles at most.
It’s mainly because getting good deathrattles is far from a guarantee, so often in arena it just a badly stated 10 drop.
Basically this. Imagine a scenario where you were lucky enough to draft 1 of 3 legendaries in your first pick and selecting N’zoth with the intention of selecting deathrattles when available, but then not having the option to pick any deathrattles in the rest of your draft picks (I know this is unlikely, just a hypothetical example for the purposes of explanation). In this scenario N’zoth becomes nothing more than a 5/7 10 drop and is effectively worthless.
Because it is a card who’s value is directly linked to the synergy within your deck, as that synergy is much harder to guarantee in arena drafting, it’s value is much lower than a card that needs no synergy to be useful
