Tombs of Terror Rewards (2)

TL:DR

‘Complete Chapter 1 to earn 3 packs free’: false? (Shouldn’t it read 'down first 4 bosses of Chapter 1 to earn 3 packs? (Completion of the Chapter actually doesn’t reward any packs, right?))

More details

In a recent post I stated that I had received 3 packs after downing the 1st 4 bosses of the 1st Chapter and asked if I would get another 3 packs after downing the next 4. I was told that I wouldn’t. I wanted to add something to the discussion, which is actually my most important point, but I’m making this new post in case the other post is not getting any views now due to its being 6 days old.

The reason I was confused is that the advert on the bnet app says ‘Complete Chapter 1 to earn 3 packs free’, but if what this respondent says is true, this advert is false, since completing Chapter 1 doesn’t reward any packs at all. It’s downing Boss 4 that earns you 3 packs.

in the official news of when the solo adventure was released

towards the end of it, it says

* Earn 3 Saviors of Uldum after completing the fifth boss of each of the first four chapters, another 3 for completing the finale, and earn a Golden Classic Pack when you conquer the entire Solo Adventure. Plus, earn two unique card backs for completing all chapters on Normal or Heroic Mode.

Also worth noting is its an advert to give info, its not like its full on missleading, yea “completing” may not be right, but your still getting the reward, theres no point nitpicking about this as you still receving what was promised just a bit earlier than mentioned in the ad and the add was about chapter one which is also free, false advertising or not, you benefit reguardless and any problems like you being “i didnt want them till i beat it” well you could have just waited to open them.
Finally if you bought all chapters, for the final 3 packs you would have to actually beat every chapter to unlock the finale so theres that aswell

I don’t like adverts which give incorrect info. I prefer clarity.

No no. I’m not nitpicking. I asked my original question because I wasn’t sure what the situation was due to the advert’s confusing wording. Then in this post I clarified my reasons for having been confused. It’s a perfectly valid criticism. I reject your attempt to be dismissive about what I say.

This argument makes 0 sense, even if the premise that I’m ‘nitpicking’ were correct, which it isn’t.

Sorry ive obviously done terrible at explaining my self as i tend to do by over explaining il try to keep it simple.
Yes the advert is incorrect on how you receive the reward but you still get it for trying to complete it, legally its fine or at bare minimum someone could get them to change it to be accurate but it wouldn’t accomplish much.

Also wanted to say sorry about assuming it was nitpicking it just usually when i see people talk about something being misleading in adverts they go grab pitchforks to get something out of it because if something advertised isnt there then its against the law and people will get what they can from that.

Also sorry if i sounded condescending or dismissive i am very bad at explaining my self via text sometimes

I’m not sure I get why this is relevant.

the advert said “complete” (which means ‘beat 5 bosses’, right?). then the client gives you the reward after 4 bosses.

to me this is like if my boss tells me to build 5 tables for X €, but then gives me the money after I’ve built 4 tables. then it’s up to me to build the fifth.

if at all, this is false advertisement that benefits the player in my opinion.

No, you get it for defeating the 1st 4 bosses.

Bro noone’s going to court over this, but no, if this were a legal matter, it wouldn’t be at all fine, since the accuracy of information provided is often what decides legal cases.

Well it wouldn’t save the world but it would save people the trouble of having to ask on forums about how to earn rewards. I don’t think it’s that difficult to explain. Just say what you need to do to get the reward as opposed to false information. It can’t be that hard, surely?

I just find it irritating when people can’t convey simple details that save people trouble, but instead insist on buggering it up and making life awkward for everyone.

At the very least, if thinking of a reasonable alternative to ‘Complete Chapter 1 to Earn 3 Packs Free’ was too difficult for them, they could have just put an asterisk next to it and then put the details somewhere below on a page you would get to by clicking on the advert.

That depends on what you are trying to get what it is relevant to. I wasn’t trying to be relevant to some unnamed subject of yours. I was just expressing my irritation at a confusing advert which left me uncertain of whether or not I would get 3 packs if I completed the Chapter.

I was under the impression it was 8 actually.

I didn’t feel it benefited me. I felt it left me uncertain as to whether I would get 3 packs if I competed the Chapter.

I’m happy that they gave the reward after 4 bosses. I don’t have a problem with that. My problem is with managing to make a confusing advert when it should be perfectly straight forward just to say what the actual requirement for earning the packs is, rather than feeling like they had to stick to a more standard message which was incorrect and left me confused. Of course I realised there might not have been a reward upon completion, but I wasn’t certain and so had to ask on the forum, so it made life more awkward for me than if they’d just conveyed the perfectly simple requirement of downing the 1st 4 bosses in the advert, rather than the false requirement of completing the Chapter.
