What was I thinking?

You lost your last Ranked game due to a disconnect. From REALITY.

Clearly, this is OP. Pls feedback and balance.

Here’s my take:

8-mana 6/10 Demon
Your deck is replaced by an infinite source of random cards.

Note that this version has an aura effect so destroying/silencing it removes the random card source.
I do have a couple of questions on the game logic quandaries this presents though:

  1. What if someone used Psychic Scream against it? Would it get shuffled into the infinite card source and thus disappear into the void when the aura effect disappears with it or does it get shuffled into your actual deck?
  2. If this aura effect happens while you still have cards left in your deck, does it count as your deck being depleted when the aura disappears?
  3. While the infinite source is in play, how would highlander cards work? Since there’s infinite cards in the deck, 1-of-a-kind cards would technically not be, so they shouldn’t activate, right? Or does it do something to the effect of being able to be worded like “You are immune to fatique. When you draw a card, add a random card to your hand instead.” or something to that effect?

These would need to be figured out as it is very radical of an effect. That being said though, I can already hear people crying out “ERMAGERD, THAT’S JUST ELYSIANA BUT 99999X BETTER!”

the problem I see is that making this card less broken would take away lots of the creative genius of it.

that said, you just can’t make this a warlock card. do you even know what their quest reward is? ;D

2-mana Random Card each turn. Still not as broken as over 2500 armour. Looking at you, Druid.

you could make it a 15/15 same Battlecry but 11 mana. so you either need to cheat it out or you need the coin.

It’s very easy to compare this card to both instances of Deathwing. The OG (Original Generation) Deathwing is 10-mana 12/12 Dragon with a K&C Cataclysm Glued onto it. Don’t get me started on the OG (Old gods) Deathwing. He can summon a ton of dragons upon taking the oOF.

Q&A.

Maybe I should have worded it differently.

It destroys your own deck and replaces the fires of fatigue with

Ṱ̻̺̺̇ͧ͟H̛̰̉͌ͭ͢E̡͈̤͒ͣ̾ͨ͒ͨ ͙̞̯̣̦͓̂̒̇͗̍P̳̹̞̝ͫ̆̐͒ͦͣ̇͆̐ͅḼ̅͛ͭ͆̍̏̚̕A̢͎̼̣̤͕̤͖̩͛̏̆̄̽ͧ̍ͯ̾͘͟ͅĆ̴̴̲̻ͧ͘Ȩ̸͖͙̦̘̫̫̼̖̈̚ ̺̖͓͍̼́ͫ̍̐̎̉̓ͩ͜B͉̓̅ͅE̵̠̠͑̆ͯ̌̊̚Y͙͙̘͍̅ͤ́̓͐̄ͬ̇̀́ͅǪ͉̪͇͋̂͝N͓̥̞̳͉͓̹͋̎͋̔̑͊̾ͅḐ̅ͨ̆͑̽҉͎̩̘̲̯͙͙ ̜͕͕͍ͥͪͦͭ͂ͬ͛Ṯ̖̫̝̫̊͋̀͝ͅH̺̺̼͍̭͍͉͎ͫͫͨ̽̀Ȅ̻̖̳ͬ͆ͮ̉͛̚͟͡ ͕̍͑̆͐V̵̱̙̯̠͚̲̟̰̓͗ͨͮͪ̓͂̎̈͡O̯̘͈̓̅̄ͧ̇͐I̛̳̰͗̑̋ͫ̆̒̒ͮͭ͡D͕̞͉̣͉ͤ̃͒͊͢.̘͓̪͕̖͇̇

Whoops.

What I meant to say was that a portal that leads to… somewhere… and functions as an infinite deck that you draw from instead. Shuffling a card into your deck would be blocking the toilet pipe, but when you empty the deck, you’ve flushed the interdimensional toilet and the water is forever once again.

The portal is like an empty deck that gives you infinite cards instead of fatigue damage.

It is nothing and everything.

I feel as if the aura effect complicates it further. Say if it is silenced. Is the deck now empty, or back to the way it was prior to playing The Beyonder.

To me, this card has an Arch-Villian Rafaam sort of effect. It sounds absolutely OP before the release of the expansion, but once in practice? Meh. At least it’s a 10-mana 12/12.

Also, you don’t just pull warlock class cards. Any card you draw theoretically could be from any class, so long as the card is collectible.

You could draw The Lich King.
You could draw Plague of Madness.
You could draw Murloc Tastyfin.
You could draw Lesser Mithril Spellstone.
You could draw Succubus Felstalker.
The possibilities are infinite.

Your deck is empty., but so empty it is full.
Of everything.
The portal is like the deep expanse of our universe.
Yes. Highlander cards will work, as would Nomi.

in addition to the usual card that you draw. the hero power becomes automatic unless you got something for 9/10 mana that turn.

The only way I could nerf this without ruining my fun would be to make it a Deathrattle, like Deathwing, Dragonlord.

Imagine the animation of the game “glitching” as IT is summoned and how the deck is obliterated and replaced with a Plot-Twist-esque black hole/portal.

Maybe take the regular empty deck graphic and shift the color a bit to make it more warlocky?

Yes! Convert the bright orange fatigue to it’s negative dark blue and black. You’ve got the right idea.

I can even see how this card could inspire a tavern brawl. A mirror match between Warlocks and their deck is a beyonder portal instead, but their starting hand has supreme archaeology quest, along with random cards from potentially any class.
