Why can't quests be done in Tavern Brawl?

I’ve noticed I don’t get any quest updates when playing tavern brawl after the new reward system was introduced, but it seems to work in duels. What other game modes can quests be completed in and why not in Tavern Brawl?

Just saw that myself, thought something was bugged for that to be the case though I was sure that I had some quest progress from the tavern brawl?

Beats me on why they made this decision but yeah quests can not be completed in tavern brawl.

  • Quests – Quests can be completed in Casual, Ranked, Arena, and Duels. Certain quests may also point you to Battlegrounds or Tavern Brawls. Quests can also be completed in the Friendly Challenge variants of any of these modes.

I think I know why. Because they want you to play the modes where you need to buy card packs to have a good deck. Tavern brawl often gives you a random deck.
