Your crack friend

Picture this.
You have this one friend who constantly does crack, he looks like a wreck, talks like a wreck and does nothing all day but sit a home with his cats. And he’s been doing it for some years now.
That guy is the warlock. More specificity, the so called zoo-lock.
This guy has been in the ranked meta for way to long. It is gotten to the point where someone starts to feel pity and believe this is the “only” way you can get play warlock.
I mean guys. This is like every… single… time you meet them in game? Is there no other way to play your warlocks?
This is not a rant on losing to them, far from it. It’s way to easy to counter because you know “exactly” what’s coming. And like the crack head friend, he seems to improve and gets some new options in his life once every season. But then quickly reverted back to his minion spams.
Am I alone in this? Because I personally feel I see them in far to many times.
Are the locks just to shy to try new things? And he meta lock? Or is this another failure from blizzard…

Shy of trying new things? Handlock, Cubelock, Renolock, only to mention the meta ones, plus many fringe archetypes and plenty of crazy ideas in the right hands. I can understand if you are tired of seeing them over and over again, but shy of new things? Can’t see it that way really.

I mean i have a deck called trollock meant for countering combos and the only real win condition is give opponent juraxxus, hope they use it and play sacrificial pact, another warlock deck i made is called “this should never win” where i just slapped in some cards that you would think its a bad deck as no cards synergise but for some reason ive gotten 6 wins and zero losses from it so far and i dont understand how i managed this. I also have a wild warlcok deck called “CHANGE!” majority of deck is warlock cards, the purpose it to break combos steal minions and get demons until i get renounce darkness to get stuff from other classes, it gets pretty wild

Zoolock hasn’t been the leading archetype for Warlock for a while… it’s just one of those decks that usually reappear at the start of a new year/expansion simply because it is so easy to build a (budget) version. Because other decks are still experimenting, it can easily get a bunch of wins.
