Hi. I’ve been playing hots against bots. I enjoy it much more than with other players. But my bots are acting like idiots. They’re running around in a bush and doing nothing. They’re splitting on all three lanes when the whole enemy team is pushing with the boss. Like what the f**k am I suppose to do? Blizzard please make bots focus the objective and heroes instead of random split pushing which usually leads to death.
I assure you, the yare not random, it’s all part of a grand scheme.
It has been known that there are severe problems with the bot AI in HotS. I don’t know enough about the game code to even guess at what the AI is “thinking” at some times. I have witnessed an entire team of AI bots die by trying to get a nuke under an enemy fort. Hilarious the first time, but depressing by the 5th time I saw it.
In general, if you ping on top of an AI controlled bot the bot will basically follow you and try to help you. I say try because on a few times I have seen the bots just stand out of a fight and watch you die before starting to fight. But hey, it tends to be slightly better than leaving them go off on their own, it’s like virtual baby sitting. Where characters kill each other.

Couldnt agree more! And most of the times the AI doesnt even try what you order them to do, like defend/capture something. They just around randomly. Playing casual HoTS and the way the AI is working totally ruins this game! To have a chance of winning you have to have most of the AI players on your team following you. But that means that most maps where you have to control two points is an almost certain loss. So is if the enemy team have Medivh since he every 40 sec or so cast poly morph bomb making all sheeps and before I have set the AIs to not following me most of them are dead.
Im amazed that the AI implemented in this half-effort game is worse than games back in the 90s/00s.
That “grand scheme” must be “make the player feel frustrated and look for other better implemented games”

They can make a better AI. Elite AI in vs AI is better. Not its even worse than the one you have with you in beginner AI. It is as if they are trying to kill the game. I would have liked that someone have confronted them at a Blizzcon about the dumb things they have done with hots. But that should have been done in the past.
