Allow people to leave drafts in lower leagues

This would improve my gaming experience so much. I have lost 3 of my seven games to drafts alone. I’m not talking about counter picks but teams without tanks/healers or tanks and healers both. I get it you can win odd drafts sometimes but its super annoying when lower tier players keep drafting like they have no clue what certain hero even does. At least put suggestions for what they have to pick. Or don’t match experienced players with complete noobs.

This would improve game experience only in theory. What you fail to see is that you are not playing alone. There is 9 other people who can consider draft to be bad. Especially in lower leagues, where people often have certain hero(es) they can’t play against and which they consider “insanely OP”. Imagine you give such people opportunity to quit draft. It would end up by sitting in queue, waiting for like 10 drafts until finally the 11th succeed. And that all only because you didn’t like draft or your team. Or the enemy didn’t like you picked Azmodan. Or your team mate is mad because someone picked his favourite hero. And so on. This would not improve game experience, this would make it a lot worse in my opinion.

something must be done to prevent these bad games, if there is no way to prevent bad drafts then at least don’t match me with the bronze players at level 100. Maybe copy from wow, where you can que as support, as warrior or assasin, perhaps that could work with some adjustments…fk it, I’ll just delete the game…

A code of conduct is needed in ranked to make sure players don’t do anything that purposely will lose the game or people who refuse to be a team player in these leagues.

I always have these as personal rules but don’t apply them in general:
-1st Pick needs to be strategic. (HL only)
-If you force pick you need to be good with your hero.
-Any player forced to play a role can be excused for any mistakes.
-Anyone who refuses to communicate 1% during draft or game is automaticly bad. (This also means no prepicking)
-Anyone who says OP or Trash hero is automaticly terrible dodging.
-People who say spam and shut up after 2 setences or 2 pings are terrible players.
-Anyone who is lower then level 200 is automaticly bad in my eyes.
-Anyone who’s requests get denied may be angry.
-Force pickers can’t be complainers of preformances of others.
-1st Pick Nova, Murky, Gazlowe, Probius or other picks that will get heavily countered have to explain themselves if not, they will be considered bad.
-Anyone who is silent during draft should remain silent. Talking smack only shows how to be a Captain Hindsight not a foresight.

That’s a quick list of things I think. Non of these should be rules though as some of them are more like how fast I will judge you for these decissions.
If you can explain yourself… then I wouldn’t find you bad.

i have a few of my own ‘rules i go by’. I have been master in hl and tl for many seasons and this is usually what i look for in a game.
meta or target bans
-no trash heroes (nova murky butcher sylvanas tass valla)
-GOOD DRAFT - can’t emphasize enough how big a part drafts are in hots. the first thing that crosses my mind when i think about this game is draft. better draft almost always wins(atleast above masters).
-i advise to use pubstombers to climb low elo. kerrigan maiev kaelthas jaina genji…

You win some, you lose some.
Some are handicapped in draft, some are easily winnable.

Denying the enemy a shot at their win, because you drafted poorly and queue-dodging in general is not compatible with a competitive ladder mode with random teammates/enemies.

If you feel like you dont belong in bronze, pay attention to your own impact on the game, not that of others.
Climb beyond that and once you hit plat and upward drafts significantly improve.
If youre not able to get a positive winrate of atleast 55% out of bronze after a significant amount of matches, I have bad news for you.

That would end up in abuse , ppl would quit for absolutley the simplest of reasons .
I would agree with 1 quit / day if u really have to go somewhere or a family emergency , but then to flagged as a deserter so you can’t play HL /TL that day (24H)ours .

This is advice full of good points. However, OP was talking about low leagues. While your suggestions work well in master, grand master and maybe even in diamond or platinum, in lower league they usually lead to loss. People are not that good there. If they pick meta heroes, they usually end up losing the game for the team because they don’t know how to play it. If they are forced into some hero, it ends up the same. It’s way more important to do comfortable picks (and to know counters of your comfortable picks) and aim for at least some general role balanced composition with at least one tank and one healer there (crazy compositions, such as 5 assassins, work really great too if nobody tilts, because element of surprise works really great in low leagues and non-meta compositions tend to catch opponent unprepared for it).

Leaving a draft should never be allowed. You signed up to play league games, you sit out that ride and take whatever punches are thrown at you. Everything can be easily solved by joining a group first.

If everyone left a draft because they could, no games would be played at all, simply because people leave for the stupidest reasons they can think of.

Downvoted.
You probably have enough to work on at this level to not have you win/loss ratio depend on good/bad drafting.

this is not good bad drafting we are talking about, this is 0 sense drafting without tanks and heals against cho gal (and no malth)
