Blizzard becoming like EA

This topic will proberly be removed. But i’ll post it anyway.
They make changes people don’t ask for, and ignore the things people what changed. And when people comment on that, they are so arrogant, that they just say, you don’t know what you want. Like some parent talking to their child.
Then there is wow. A game that cost money to get, and has a monthly sub fee. And they still have the audacity to add in a cash shop. I get some of the stuff, cosmetics like mounts and pets. People should be able to get those things, when they paid to get the game, and pay each month to play the game… Btw, i don’t play wow. I didn’t think Legion was executed well enough to justify a monthly fee.
And then there is the recent thing, with the announcement of their latest Diablo project. I have seen in a video, that apparently the video for the mobile version of Diablo, got so many dislikes, and Blizzard just took it down, and re-uploaded it in a different way, to remove all the dislikes. But it just got alot of dislikes. So they are trying to manipulate the reaction to their content, to make it seem as if people are more happy about it, than they really are.
Then there is the give away of the Destiny 2. I read somewhere else, that it just happened to happen, shortly before a big patch is comming to Warframe. And I have noticed they do this alot. They annouce, or release big patches, expansions or new content, around the same time, some other developer is releasing something big for their game. If Blizzard games where that great, wouldn’t the game be able to stand on its own, and they wouldn’t have to try and take the focus away from other games

Well, they became a corporation and as any other corporations they don’t care about customer anymore and diablo immortal depicts it perfectly: there is a huge wave of negative feedback, because no one actually wanted it, company got booed for announcing it, yet they totally do not care. They fiddle with thumbs down on youtube, they try to contain any sign of discontent… Why? Why would they do that? Because they don’t care about whether this product is good or bad, they don’t care if people like it or not. They have it calculated it will give them +XX money and they are doing all they can to make that happen.

It should be illegal, against a law for investors to both influence and choose a goal to destroy brands like this.

I’m sorry, what? The give away of Division 2? You mean Destiny 2 surely? Divison 2 isn’t out and that’s owned by Ubisoft… And are you saying giving away a free game is a negative?

Activision have never had a good reputation, and they’re known to be money focused; that’s no big secret. Still, looking at your other posts you seem to be annoyed at an array of things, not specifically the business practices, so it seems you’re just venting your frustration. Hero balance in a game isn’t really comparable to how two companies handle micro-transactions.

If you want to compare Activision-Blizzard to EA go ahead, but at least be consistent and precise in what you’re comparing, because this looks more like a rant at Blizzard with little to do with EA.

I think it is obvious he meant destiny and yes, it is not a positive thing because it means no one plays that game anymore.

You really think they are giving the game for free, at the goodness of their hearts. No, they hope people will spend money on the game. Same as why they gave away a 3 day pass for BFA

It doesn’t matter, it’s a free item. Same as literally any other promotional material, you are giving something away free to build relations between the customer and the company. If Steam, Origin, EA, or whoever give something away for free, it’s because they want you to use their platform.

If I go into my local supermarket and they are giving away free bread, it’s because that positive experience is likely for me to come back. Does that make that action wrong and scummy? I would think that the majority of people would say no.

It’s not positive because it means that no one plays that game anymore? No one will play Destiny 2 anymore because it’s free? What…

What do you not understand? I will be more than happy to explain it to you in a simpler manner if you have problems understanding.

I got destiny 2 through a humble bundle.
I stopped after having played at end game content for vanilla (level 20) because the grind was getting unreal in how long it took to get even small upgrades to gear. I basicly felt I was wasting my time without getting anything real out of it.

My friend just received destiny 2 for free and I loaded up the game to help him thorugh the campaign so he could faster access the mainhub of the game.
imagine my surprise when I realised that they have actually INCREASED the grind to improve your gear when you are stuck at max level.

Unbelievable, really.

And to start with, the game even wanted me to use a resource that was locked behind DLC to be able to upgrade any of my gear…

It’s stuff like that which simply make me think: “hell no if I am going to sink money into that waste of time”

We could turn that other way around, who cares what Blizzard announces, if other games are really that great, people will still pick them instead. The thing is business doesn’t work like that. For centuries you can see that it’s better marketing what wins over better solutions all the time.

Please do. Why would Destiny 2 being offered for free cause no one to play that game anymore?

Now I should act like a total idiot and pretend I didn’t understand what you ask about saying: “what…”, but here you go:
Why would offering a game for free cause no one to play it anymore?

I think you totally didn’t understand the point. The game right now is not played by many people, that’s why it is given to you for free. It’s not like any less people will play it.

Perhaps you could organise your sentence structure better in the future, but the action of them giving the game out for free does not mean that the game currently has no players, or that it will cause them to have no players.

“The game has a very limited playerbase, which is why they have made it available for free”.

There is also no negativity in that either. Do you think being offered a game for free is something reprehensible? Whether you like it or not doesn’t matter, it hurts no one else. Components of World of Warcraft are also offered for free with the incentive for you to both buy the latest expansion and a membership, but the playerbase is still significant enough that no one would question that there are a huge number of people playing the game. I could compare a lot of other examples, but I still don’t see it as a negative point compared to having nothing.

A good and fair argument

It is called an comparison. And i did state what Blizzard did and that EA has done similar things. I don’t have give exact examples, as i can emagine some people know. But here is a video, of some of the lates Blizzard has done, which of what i recall, is something EA has also done

I can’t say i agree with them, but i understand it. I hope we will see more PC focused content/games/expansions/surprises.

As for we don’t know what we want. I guess that is true. Millions of players screaming for opposing things.

Diablo on mobile, i think it is a great way to get kids hooked on blizzard games and they might make the jump to PC at one point instead of staying at console. Also with the Razer and Asus phone focus on making the phone a mobile game platform i can understand that Blizzard would like to be there when it skyrockets and becomes a real thing.

Destiny 2, they need to do something to get a playerbase. Anthem is comming fast at them.

That dude in the video nailed it.

Blizzard wants to play with the big boys in the videogame industri, you can’t have both profit and integrity, so they gave up the latter. Shareholders first, customers last.

Wow and the rant and crying go on, the said from the begin that there will be no info about diablo 4 or any other thing yes it did not fit well with the public but the have in total
the have 3 teams for wow, 2 teams for hearthstone, 4 teams for diablo, 3 teams for starcraft 2 and some extra for the older 1, hots 2 teams etc etc so because 1 game do not fit well with people the become evil now.

grow a spine and dont come up with stuff like the lost there touch the are the new EA around the block.

And no i am not a blizz fan boy and try to defend them because its blizz i defend them because people become dicks because the made 1 game people dont like.

u do know there is asia 2 and the love mobile games.

I am going to say the 1st thing.
This topic is unrelated to HoTS as Diablo Immortal isn’t about this game.

But… if you want to use to to kick off a complaints on the company related to the game then that’s good.

That’s my only addition.

I didn’t link the video to talk about diablo. I don’t care that they made a mobile game. I linked because of the part, where he talks about them re-uploading a video to reset the dislike count. And they somehow have gotten dislikes removed. And alot of negative comments have been removed. There are also other videos where they talk about it
