Genji is not op

  • Hes not op.
  • Ofc not.
  • Why would he be op?
  • Did i say hes really balanced?
  • Why does he have such a huge pick rate?
  • Omg so balanced.
  • Guys stop complaining hes a super skillful hero and not op.
  • U just have to learn to play against him.
    /WOOOOOSH
    Blizzard, pls :DDD

He isn’t balanced in the ways you think.

What he excells at is his mobility and way of dealing damage and getting out.
But if you cann catch him making a mistake, you destroy him.

The reason he is a high pick rate is because alot of people can’t deal with the mobility and his unpredictability.
The moment you can predict Genji he is toast.

That’s the deal with him. But if you remove what makes him strong… waht else does he have left?

for every good genji player out there, there are 2 noob genji players out there which will throw their team the game - just watch the winrates on hotslogs.

so if the opponent has a genji im happy, our team will probably will win. if my team firstpicks a genji im sad - easy to counter and useless if countered.

In draft you can pick a counter, but in QM he is OP. He’s almost in every game and 9 out of 10 games the opposite team has no counter. Same goes for Tracer.

Maybe there are too few heroes as a counter for these two?

Doesn’t any auto-attacker that matches their range do the trick (there should be plenty in QM) ? Their strength is the high amount of safe poke they can deliver as well as their ability to kill-off people far off in the backline. I have a lot of success with Raynor just constantly shooting at them (using W if they have exhausted the majority or all of their mobility “tricks”).

The point is, i do not think that you necessarily need silence to deal with these two.

He excells at mobility - Nice, but the mobility he has is unfair.
Way of dealing damage and getting out - Again unfair, hes tagged as “Opportunistic hero” but can actually work as dps, because hes not close to lack dmg.
“Catch him making a mistake” - Like E’ing forward into a base without killing nobody? then pressing W and D’ing out like nothing happened?
Or do u mean like failing E on an assassin at full hp (With E build) and still kill u with AAs and Q? Without even doing it correctly?
Thats the mistake and predictings u talk about?

Im not talking about removing this but nerfing it to a point that he actually needs skill to do stuff and not faceroll the keyboard and kill the enemy team…

dude - he is not op - not at all - some statistics

Hotslogs:

  • overall winrate: 44,3% (only 4 heroes are behind him)
  • “pro wr” (master wr): 50,6% (pretty much every hero in master has more than 50% wr - genji is somewhere in the middle of the bottom half - 75% of the heroes have better wr on master aswell)
  • dia wr: 44,0 %
  • plat wr: 43,5 %
  • gold wr: 34,4 %
  • silver wr: 43,9 %
  • bronze wr: 32,5%

all stats from games last 7 days.

so please show me where he is OP???
even in master he is kinda bad - only better than 1/4 of the heroes

if you cant play/draft vs him its your problem - but genjis are in general bad…

Sure! I only play QM, because if QM is filled with toxic and leavers, ranked and unranked is INFESTED.

Now here; Genji IS op, i couldnt care less of a statistic when theres a hero that is picked ALMOST every single match.

“Hes not op at all” Maybe u could use ur eyes and see the not closely compared mobility to ANY other hero in the game, “But tracer” u could say, sure… tracer huh? Tracer has a nice mobility, does she reset all Q charges when she kills somebody? Does her E reset somehow?
Can she Q through walls? Does she have more dmg (DPS/Burst) than genji? All answers to that is NO.
Because surprise… shes balanced! Genji is not.
I learned how to counter genji, they are incredibly easy to read YET they still are able to kill me without a single bit of skill, fail E? Who cares, they still have the most op thing of him, DPS! in an “opportunistic” hero.
I can keep going and show u more if u want, Mr. GameIsBalanced xD

QM is not the game :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

if you play QM you dont have the right to talk about any hero balance
because for obvious reasons the game in not ballanced for QM

also - the thing is you can also see how genji is doing in QM´s if you apply the filter. 48,1% WR - SUUUUUUUPER OP :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

“If you play QM you dont have the right to talk about hero balance”
Because in HL u play with completely different heroes and completely different maps that are not in QM, obviously.
Every hero is completely differently balanced in QM and TL/HL, obviously.
WR means nothing about a hero balance, this is not a 1v1 game.
If hes picked MUCH more than the rest of heroes might be for something (MAYBE, not sure)
But hey, all that blizzard do is fair, they cant do bad things, they are always right and always is balanced, they are gods.
Thats the logic u are using, if u feel fine with that cool, theres no reason to keep talking about this.
Ill keep saying hes not close to be balanced and u will keep going that he is.

WHAT???

Do you think i have the winrate from 1v1 custom games???
The winrate is from 5v5 games where in this case genji is in it.

and you can say in general teams without genji performed better in QM than teams with genji in it.

if you are on the genji side 48,1%
if not 51,9%

i dont wanna tell you to much about math but:

51,9% > 48,1%

If i recall correctly doesn’t genji have a longer-than-average attack range for his auto-attacks? No idea why if he does but that means against most AA’s he can outrange them if he’s careful, but even if he isn’t he tends to have enough mobility to get out.

The real problem with genji are his mechanics. Even if his win rate is reasonably balanced (let’s say for sake of argument it is) so many mechanical things can go wrong it’s not even funny. As Spielli said before, if you counter him he is useless.

Countering a hero should put them at a disadvantage, not entirely crush them, and good design cases you would more counter a specific strategy rather than an entire hero.

On the reverse, if a team simply lacks the correct tool (typically in QM) then even a moderately played genji can accomplish feats beyond what any other hero of his kind can achieve. I’ve seen genji’s dive under forts, in the middle of an entire team, get a kill and escape in a brawl before.

This isn’t good design to have a hero have such wild swings in terms of performance, and it’s not really a problem that can be solved with numerical changes to abilities, he needs his abilities redesigned, in particular he needs his mobility limited to be more in line, a viable damage output other than point blank or assuming the enemy is stupid enough to attack into deflect and at least a possible build that’s useful if his dive tactic is countered.
