I’d like to play to 22,23,24 or so more often in AI to get some of the end game. Usually the game ends at about 16-20 and rarely give much end game experience.
tangenting this want is difficulty, and it would be good with a tuned difficulty. bit harder, it should be. the AI shouldn’t let us go quite that much, for example. And other changes, I have little understanding of what exactly needs to change to make it harder without making it impossible and unfun.
another idea i had is to allow for impossible ai in custom games. that way, if u want, u can practice against a team that just cannot be beaten. at least not by a human.
it’s a particular kind of taste in games, fighting a losing battle, but it can, if made right, be very useful for growing as a player and let u realise the boundaries more easily. kind of like an ultimate challenge, like they presented in lol, where the ai makes optimised decisions making it impossible to beat, even for very skilled players.
But the main reason for this topic isn’t harder difficulty or otherwise different modes but to prolong the AI sessions somewhat to let us practice and experience end game more.
If I understand correctly, you are suggesting some changes without providing a clear answer on how to implement them. You are not taking into account a multitude of factors that will need to be measured, modified, tested, and balanced.
If you have a proposal, it would be better to present it in a more structured format, specifically outlining what the concerns are and what the problems are, the proposed changes, and how they will impact the game.
All of this should be presented in a thoroughly refined manner, so that it can be easily inserted, thereby addressing the initial part of the idea, as you are not a game designer and you simply do not grasp the complexities of the relationships that need to be considered, even after what you claim to be a fully developed idea.
Even so, under the current circumstances, it is unlikely that time will be invested in the project. Minor adjustments may be possible in the long run, but serious changes are unlikely.
To increase the chances, you need to clearly outline the benefits to the project or the company from implementing your changes
I think my proposition is very clear.
Details is none of my concern, that’s the company’s job to figure out. And it’s their job to decide if it’s a useful thing to work on. I’m only a faint voice on the net. But there’s others. And AI is bustling where hots otherwise feel decline, I think.
I believe that this genre would benefit from having a gander at cooperative pve as an alternative to the competitive (and cooperative ofc) pvp.
But… Like I said… I’m just a faint voice of the net. I wouldn’t know what steps Blizzard should take. But I know what I think and that is that the AI games is a bit too short. Others think so too, perhaps, but yet again others feel it’s good they’re short. So it’s great none of that is my call. Who knows what’s best… Perhaps a marathon mode? Same difficulty but like double siege hitpoints? Or 50% building armor then. Boring? Could be, idk… it absolutely have to be tested to be verified, any change would need that. I could only ever speculate. And there’s much more subtle ways of prolonging a game but that one’s the simplest one i can think of. Like if u increase the difficulty and defense of the ai, or offense shudder, the games will be longer. But that has more consequences also and is way more difficult implement.
Thank you for your post, your contribution is most appreciated.
