in hots i got used to 65% sensitivity with 400 dpi and i would like to double my dpi on the mouse because thats how i use it in every other game and generally on windows
halving the 65 to 33% reduce the sensitivity too much, what would be the number to get the exact same sensitivity with 800 dpi?
400x0.65 = 260
260 = 800xY <=> Y = 260/800 = 0.325 = 32.5%
Reduce 800 by 67.5% or multiply it with 0.325 to get the converging value 260, the same sensitivity.

I am not sure if i read your comment correctly, but are you suggesting i should set it to 32.5? Because thats what i exactly said: 33% is too slow, so this is not the math.

There might be something unexpected with how dpi works that I am unfamiliar with though.
This is how it will look like when I’m looking for the converging value:
800dpiX = 260dpi
Cuz u had in total 260dpi then after reducing the 400 dpi to 65% of its original value.
Now, with a stronger mouse you wish to achieve the same result; the exact same measure.
X = 260dpi/800dpi = 26/80 = 13/40 = 1.3/4 = 0.25 + 0.3/4 = 0.25 + (0.2 + 0.1)/4 = 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 0.325
Could be a trick troll question from u ofc. Maybe dpi works in some manner I am unaware of. I’m just saying how you count, because that’s what u were asking for.
In your question you put the condition that the reduction should not be greater than 33%, since that’s what you tried first and it didn’t set the speed to what you were used to. But the math is just math, it never lies… maybe u do? idk.
Here’s a human tip for u, instead of machine: You just put 40% and test how it feels. Good? No? Test 50%. Works? Great! Success.
