Ended Season 2 of 2018 as masters missed a season and come back to placement matches being only gold league and get placed in gold league. Is the rank decay so severe that you loose 3 leagues for not playing for a season?

Thatās exactly why decay exists and iām thankful for it .
Friend u didnāt play 1 season u missed patches , hero reworks , i honestly doubt that u are able to play at master lvl this season .
I was exactly in your position i dināt play 1 full season , come back this one , got 9-1 in placement matches and got placed dia5 . I climbed to dia 1 in less then 1 week , so kind of the system works good .
The idea about decay works well, it assumes if you havenāt been in touch with something, your skills/knowledge would have dipped downwards a bit as well. So when you pick it up again, you will need some time to get back into things again. People would use the word ārustyā to describe themselves in such situations.
I donāt play HotS for months at times, and when Iām finally back into it, we are still talking handful of games daily max. As such I dropped from being low diamond player to high plat player, sounds fair to me.
In this case there is probably a good reason why 3 leagues worth of decay happened. Something in the algorithm or something youāre not telling us (cough, boost, cough).

i lost my rank twice lol from plat to silver and after 2seasons now im back in plat and close to dia with 60% winrate ā¦ i know its frustrating but that are the rules when u dont play 1 season
You dont play 1 season - you got demoted hard (you earned that master so you know how to play).
You play 10 games each season - you got promoted to higher ranks.
I am sure thats how it is supposed to work xD
Ye missing a season is detrimental, if I did not play at all during that time, but I play a lot of quick matches so I know all the changes.
I guess I would just like to have placement matches that arenāt all gold league.
Since posting Iāve played 72 games won 58 of them rose from the gold 3 placement to diamond. just seems like a waste of time to me when the placement matches donāt take into account previous seasons and donāt give me a chance to go against plats and diamonds.
