Proposal for Player Matching Adjustments Based on Excessive Deaths

Dear Developers, we kindly request that you make adjustments to the player matching system to account for excessive deaths in matches.

It has been observed that the losing team often has specific players who die as much as the rest of the team combined, and sometimes even more. We would like to see a gentle form of punishment for these players to guide them towards improvement, even though I understand that you are not inclined to remove them, as they are a favored category of players.

I propose that players who die significantly more than others, as well as those who frequently receive complaints for intentional deaths, be flagged—albeit discreetly. These players should be evenly distributed across both teams for balance, and if there are no flagged players available for the opposing team, those with flags should wait longer in the matchmaking queue.

To avoid misunderstandings, let me provide an example of player deaths in a team, where one exceptional player stands out and should be excluded if there is no similar player on the opposing team (1-0-2-6-1). It is clear that this player is providing a substantial amount of experience to the opposing team, while typically not contributing positively to their own team.

I would also like to point out that many classes tend to stay behind the team (for example, behind the tank) and should not be dying frequently.

To foster a better understanding of how to play all classes, I suggest implementing special conditions (such as balancing between teams or isolating certain players from competent teams) for players who die significantly more than the average death rate for their heroes in high-ranked leagues, where players strive to perform well and statistical errors are minimized. This could allow their statistics to serve as a more reliable baseline.

I hope that the developers have an interest in the game and value feedback, and that they will consider making these small but necessary changes. Such adjustments could potentially breathe new life into the game, retaining the existing audience while attracting new fans

Blizzard will never do this. They aren’t even banning people who intentionally run it down and die to throw a game.
Blizzard doesn’t care about your game experience and only cares about people being rude in chat. That’s the only thing they ever punish because it’s the only thing that they can verify automatically.

And they have always been of this weird mindset that people who are bad at the game shouldn’t be punished in any way, and instead should be matched with higher skilled players who can “carry” them.
They lost their entire HOTS community based on that toxic mindset to the point the game went our of active support.

LoL solves this by having the players themselves review bad gameplay behavior. Blizzard doesn’t trust their playerbase enough to do that, and they don’t want to spend money to hire people to do that, so in the end any report other than “Abusive chat” is basically thrown away by their system. Either that, or the margins are set up so high that nobody ever gets punished.

That is so biased and so typically toxic whining by bullies who love to win, more than anything, and can’t understand that they are one of the main reasons their team loses! I guess you lose a lot in real life, so now you summon the developers to pamper you…

I die a lot while trying to win a game and improve! My team usually wins because I get really motivated and never give up or be passive in the match. So, should I be punished for trying to develop? Where are morality and dignity in this?
And that lie about the “intentional death”. I don’t know what percentage is doing it - I am just not one of them, as many others are learning the ropes.
Yeah, you don’t need morals and dignity.
You have EGO!
Ego that all of us should bend around, even the developers. Well, I don’t want to play with obsessed with victory psychopaths, too! They are ruining the fun and the improvement of the others.
“If you can’t play or don’t like the “manners” of the community, go away!”… Mmm, NO! No one should be punished because they want to have fun and compete in a sportsmanship environment. People improve by participating, not by being pushed away. So, if there is justice, your proposition should be discarded and no one should bow down to bullies. It will hurt people like me too, to play with egomaniacs like you, but that is the cost, obviously. At least I am not calling for banning you for mental instability! (because that’s what you have and I am a licensed pro on diagnosing it but am sure that everyone can sense it, without a diploma needed)

Take care!
