When your MMR increases, the game starts expecting you to solo carry every single QM game. Ranked is a less serious game mode now because i don’t have to contribute more than my teammates to win. Playing any healer you’ve leveled up is really difficult in this kind of system. This kind of system simply does not work as well in HOTS as it does in other MOBA’s. This is a true team game, the individual player can only do so much to uplift others. 2 high mmr players + 3 potatoes are not going to beat 5 semi-competent players ever.
I cannot imagine how someone new to HOTS who already has MOBA experience is supposed to learn any characters in QM to use in ranked when their MMR gets beyond plat.

Thank god someone else decided to be vocal about this horrible situation. I’m getting literally stomped by sweaty players every 3 games out 5 nowadays…
I didn’t have long loss streaks in the first 5 years I’ve played this game, which were in between 2017-2022. I broke my record last year with 13 losses. And NO I wasn’t throwing on purpose, literally every game I had either an afk, a thrower or I could tell the result of the match from the loading screen. Even matched against the highest SL rank EU player with their 5 man comp (that game wasn’t as bad, since after I checked out their profile, I realized I wouldn’t stand a chance anyway.)
It’s just that I often find myself on teams with people who have arguably worse decision making, map awareness and mechanical gameplay. I had never felt the necessity to come and complain about this before, as things felt more or less the same. God forbid I switch off of my main hero for one match, a miserable experience awaits. While I am playing my main, winning like 51% of my games feels like an achievement, as nearly 8 out of 10, I’m getting MvP with highest hero damage and one of the highest exp contributions, even when I lose.
The horrible qm is what killed the game. People just got tired of horrible matches. Some of the most ridiculous team ups. I haev seen match ups, where the game could easily have swapped around a couple of players, and made the game a little more fair. So 1 team didn’t have 4 healers and 1 dps, whjile the other team has 2 healers and 3 dps
