I have officially lost count on how many accounts i have gotten permanently banned. Probably 5, but not sure.
Have never understood why this consequence is a thing in the first place, as people can just mute you if they don’t like what you write.
I am a grown man, that loves this game and sometimes use it to let of some steam. Used Mobas like that since Dota was invented. Back then we flamed the sh*t out of the enemy team and sometimes our own team.
In Hots on the other hand, you get permanetly banned basically for writting idiot or telling someone they play awfull. And again you can just mute players.
Well never mind, I have given up understanding the logic, what I truely do not understand is that this automated system is still banning players, when you basically have a game on lifesupport.
Maybe lift all those bans and see if you could make some more money on this “dead” game.
GL will probably be back in a year or so again. Damm good game, horrible coorperation behind it. And yes I loved Blizzard once

You shouldn’t be flaming people unless you think the hero you’re playing should be flaming the other heroes because this is a somewhat messed up roleplaying game where you play as someone else. I wish I was actually Sonya so I could actually yell through my mic as Sonya and be as Wrathful as her but I can’t so I’m not sure I should even be playing this game.
I don’t know if any accounts are banned, I have only ever got lever status, is there a list of accounts which are banned?
I have reported people in the past but I haven’t recieved any notification on whether any thing has been done about it.
Try this logic: If something is not working, don’t do it.

This needs to change. ‘Toxicity’ in chat/voice should only award mutes of increasing duration.
You need to go through all accounts that ever got banned for this nonsense and revert.
Vast majority of gamers are over 18, and male. Learn to live with it. It’s actually insane thinking Kids playing Halo with voice chat in 2001 were able to trash talk more than 2025 players.
You already have mute pings, messages, and even an option to disable all chats.
All the while, the ingame characters talk smack at each other and even do death threats all the time.

those are roleplay and setting, which is something completely different from toxic raging.

But can you see that you being exposed to things like that can contribute to you yourself voicing/texting them? Or similar things?
The real problem at hand is the principle of proportionality (law). The punishment should always fit the crime.
Example: It is illegal to spit on the street. The person gets caught and fined.
The second time the person gets caught, they get fined and also go to jail.
Nth-time person gets a lifetime sentence.
This system of progressive punishments is just wrong and unfair.
It reminds me of that guy in Germany buying (paying the caution) to get ticket dodgers out of prison. That law, an inheritance from WW2 regime, which punished poorer people since they did not have money to pay the fine.
You end up with people that have played the game since the early days, get a few reports here and there for “you are noobs” accumulate complaints to get a penalty once every 2 years. Which after 10 years turns into a permanent ban.
It is 2025. People should just grow a thicker skin, imo. But hey, maybe HotS 3 takes this into consideration and makes a better system, more akin to the leavers queue mechanic.
Or it just gives players more control over matchmaking entirely, so they do not end up feeling the need to voice/type something at others.

The logic is that you flame to begin with, do that over and over and silence penalties is not not deemed enough and thats why you get banned. Just because people can mute you, that still leaves at least one message from you where you flame them or maybe even threatens them. You say you are a grown man yet you openly admit you are flaming and that you dont understand why you are getting banned. Something a grown man would be able to understand.
What if a Blizzard’s employee’s account is banned and it stops them from improving the game?
What happens now?
Is there a way to unban?
If an automated system exists then we should be able to have free electricity in my opinion.
Because gaming isn’t for flaming ? It’s a time sink / enjoyment place , pretty sure harassing other players in game isn’t normality mate .
