In issue 21 of the magazine, we decided to consider adding one of the Old Gods of Azeroth to the game - Yogg-Saron. Of course, this will be an unusual hero with new game mechanics. His main feature is that in fact he is not on the playing field as a character, but he has his guards who do all the dirty work for him. So, let’s take a closer look at the abilities of Yogg-Saron:
Q - “Summon Guardian”: Summons the Guardian of Yogg-Saron at the selected visible point on the map. After the loss of every 8th guard, Yogg-Saron cannot summon a new one for 2 minutes. Only one Guardian of Yogg-Saron can be present on the battlefield.
W - “Madman’s Gaze”: Yogg-Saron gazes at the target enemy, inflicting periodic damage on him and himself. When used on the Guard, Yogg-Saron increases his abilities by 100% for the duration of the spell, at which time Yogg-Saron receives periodic damage (he can die if the spell is not canceled in time).
E - Dominance of Mind: Takes control of the Guardian of Yogg-Saron until his death or until the spell is canceled. It can be used on the icon of an enemy hero to detect his location on the map for a few seconds.
R (Heroic 1) - Deafening Roar: Deals physical damage and leaves enemy heroes speechless for several seconds.
R (Heroic 2) - Shadow Barrier: Protects the target from all attacks and spells for a few seconds. (Has a short recovery time).
D (Ability) - “Taking Life”: Takes the life of his guardian and restores health to Yogg-Saron in the amount of 50% of the guard’s maximum health.
Now let’s look at the abilities of the Guardians of Yogg-Saron:
Q - “Ring of Darkness”: Deals Shadow damage to all targets in the vicinity, and to the Guardian himself.
W - Shadow Bolt Barrage: Deals Shadow damage to the target.
E - “Drain Life”: Transfer health from the selected enemy hero to the Guardian for several seconds.
LEVEL 1
Q: Increases the maximum number of possible guards on the battlefield simultaneously to 2.
Q: Increases the damage done by the Guardian by 20% for the rest of the game.
D: No longer kills the Guardian, but takes 50% of his health from him.
LEVEL 3
Q: Guardian’s Ring of Darkness no longer deals damage to the Guardian itself.
W: Shadow Bolt Barrage now affects multiple targets.
E: “Mastery over Mind” is restored faster.
LEVEL 7
Q: After the death of the 8th Guardian, Yogg-Saron summons an Immortal Guardian, whose health cannot fall below 1 hp.
W: Volley of Shadow Bolts additionally reduces the effectiveness of any healing by 25% for several seconds if the target of the spell is an enemy hero.
1 - “Shadow Beacon”: Marks the target enemy hero, increasing the damage they take from Shadow magic. (Valid until the end of the match or until the target is changed). While the beacon is active, Yogg-Saron takes damage over time.
LEVEL 10
Choose between two heroic abilities.
LEVEL 13
W: Yogg-Saron takes 50% less damage than the target.
D: When triggered, the ability deals damage to targets within a small radius of the Guardian.
2— “Corruption of Yogg-Saron”: Sends a curse on all enemy heroes, inflicting periodic damage over several seconds, revealing their location.
LEVEL 16
E: When used on a Guard, enhances it by 20%.
E: When used on an enemy hero, deals minor damage.
3: Binds the selected guard to the selected ally hero. When you use the ability, “Bleeding Life” restores health to the selected hero.
LEVEL 20
R - “Deafening Roar”: Increases the duration of silence by several seconds and applies the effect of damage over time.
R - “Shadow Barrier”: Now has 2 charges and speeds up movement.
3: If the Guardian has more than 50% health, he automatically transfers his health to the hero associated with him.
Here is such an unusual and, I hope, an interesting hero can turn out from one of the ancient gods of World of Warcraft. What can you say about such a concept?
One of the readers of the magazine suggested making Yogg-Saron instead of the citadel, which can also be an interesting idea.
