I didn’t play a huge amount of games with this set up, but from what I saw I don’t think it’s the right move for the game, not that it is inherintly bad, it’s fine but I don’t think it will really take the game anywhere. In my experience, all it did was change which class has the longest wait times and personally, I dont like the idea of my wait time being shortened at the cost of someone else’s being lengthened.
3 DPS, I saw that a lot before 2 2 2 was brought out, it was probably my most common team composition and, well it worked for us. Not always of course, but I don’t really buy into blaming the game for the other team winning, those matches we lost, the enemy team where better. Its not all about composition. Skill and communication are a big part of it too, a good team composition doesn’t mean you will win, nor does it mean you will lose.
I do like being able to personally play this experimental mode, but if I had to sum up my thoughts, it won’t make any significant change for the quality of life if implumented. DPS queues might reduce, but tank queue times will probably rise to a similar place as the DPS queue is now. So we won’t have gone anywhere, we’ll have just rearranged the furniture. I personally don’t believe that 1 3 2 is the right way to proceed in improving the game, its still restrictive and in my opinion this restriction is bad, regardless of the number of each class we are allowed.
